The location is stunning, amongst the vineyards. It is truly beautiful. Seemed to be quite a quiet site. Mostly German and Dutch couples in caravans.

Good toilet/shower block. Lovely village.

There's a big swimming pool next door. There is also a volleyball net and table tennis.

Been twice (previously in June 2009) and would definitely go back. Great stop off on your way to/from the south of France. About 5-6 hours from a Calais.

This site accepts Camping Cheques and we stayed for a week, there was a deal for 7 nights = 6 Camping Cheques, so pretty pleased with that!

Can't agree with the previous reviewer about nowhere to eat for miles. The site is a good mile from the village of Santenay, which has at least 2 restaurants that I know of. OK, there aren't LOADS of eating places, but you certainly don't have to rely on beans on toast in the van here.

We stayed from the 29th of May for a week, and found the municipal pool opened on the 1st of June. Campers have free access to that and it is lovely and warm, can well recommend a swim in there.

Toilet block is very clean, and there are plenty of washing and washing-up sinks, all with really hot water.

There seems to be an old part and a newer part on the site. The older part has a lot of trees on it, the newer part has very few trees, and they are mainly on the outside perimeter. Views from here are superb, of the surrounding vineyards.

There are bigger towns close by for visiting by car, like Beaune, Dijon, Chalon-sur-Saone.

For the likes of us with bicycles and a motorhome, which we leave on site once pitched up, there is the lovely Burgundy canal close by to cycle along. It's only about a mile to get to it, along a very quiet road, and once on the towpath, you can cycle for literally miles. En route, there are also several waymarked cycle routes, which take you through lovely villages and then bring you back to the canal, sometimes at the same point, sometimes further back. There is also a cycle route from Santenay to Beaune, through all the vineyards. It is a lovely trip, but you seem to do a lot more miles as it takes you from village to village, all via the vineyards, so be warned if you are tempted, it takes a long time to get there and back, but worth it, because Beaune is lovely.

There was WiFi on the site, in the shop opposite reception, but it was at a cost of €4.50 per hour, and they wanted your credit card up front, so we didn't bother with that. Not because of the cost, but because of having to give your credit card details.

All in all, we really enjoyed our stay here and can certainly recommend it, there was certainly enough cycling to keep us there for a whole week.

Stayed her overnight as part of a longer haul. Ideal overnight stop but be warned off season there is absolutely nothing! Clean and adequate toilet block. Close enough to motorway without hearing it. Nice pitches.
No restaurant/take aways shop for miles! Municipal swimming pool closed. I did not venture into the gambling casino but it did not seem to affect the site. Quiet and relaxing but be prepared for beans on toast in your unit!

Stayed here twice - for a stopover on the way back from the south and a longer 10 day holiday. Can't recommend it highly enough.

The restaurant & takeaway on site are excellent and reasonably priced - no rip offs here. Local wines from the camp shop in the fridge which is great for those of us without EHUs. Be warned though - they also chill their red wine so if you like yours a bit warmer remember to buy it in advance. And buy two, so you don't have to wait for the second bottle to warm up! The showers and toilets are very clean, showers have decent size cubicles with plenty of hot water.

Views from most pitches are excellent up to the hills at the back of the site. It's a lovely scenic area, pretty villages and vinyards plus lots of good walks in the area. Santenay is about a mile from the site and has nice restaurants as you would expect in this part of France and an artisan boulangerie with pastries to die for. The swimming pool next door is excellent and is free for site customers (just obtain a ticket from reception)

Keycamp have tents and caravans on this site and a lot of people use it as a stop over. Not all of them appreciate the peaceful ambience of this lovely campsite as they head south to some 2,000 pitch campsite on the Cote D'Azur. So it's best to keep away from the keycamp pitches so you don't hear their customers complaining 'there's nothing to do here' as you sip the local chardonnay and try to enjoy the peace and quiet.

We've stayed in this campsite a few times as a stopover site travelling through France to the South and always found it to be very relaxing, friendly & clean. Even with kids on the site it is still quiet.

We now stay for a few nights on the way home from the South every time we travel through.

Pitches are spacious the toilet and shower facilities are great. If you want takeaway food you have to take your own plate which struck us as a little strange the first time we went. Now we've visited more site across France this seems to be more and more common.

The kids love the little crazy golf course and the municipal pool although it can get extremely busy on a very hot day.

When we have stayed before there has been a small travelling fair a couple of times which stays for a few days at a time. Even with this and the casino we haven't found it to be noisy at the site at all.

 June 2005
A friendly, welcoming campsite, with pitches separated by hedges. A good mix of touring pitches & Keycamps statics, some of which looked a bit plonked down.

Clean facilities, plenty of hot water. The restaurant is informal and food ranges from nuggets to snails, with much in between. Nice wine, of course, though the Santenay was a little pricy for me. The shop sells essentials & tinned food. Bread, croissants etc can be ordered for the morning.

The campsite makes much of being next to the municipal swimming pool, which campers can use outside of school swimming lessons. It looked very nice but we were up and away too early to use it.

The village - a stiff walk away has a couple of restaurants and a little supermarket and half a dozen wine outlets, some of which look very classy indeed.

This campsite is also bang next door to a casino! As in Las Vegas, not the supermarket chain. It struck me as a bit strange really, but nice if you like that sort of thing.
There are a couple of cash dispensers in the casino, as there are none in the village, and they don't seem to mind non-gamblers coming in to use them.
