Can not fault this site at all, facilities are adequate and spotlessly clean. Small play area for the kids and plenty of room for cricket and football etc. The welcome you get is second to none, lovely, genuine people. The views from the bottom field are fantastic and the fields are well kept. All in all a great site.
See you next year.

We have visited this charming site many times over the years, and not once has it disappointed.
Situated on a quiet, narrow lane a mile or so from Aberdaron, it is a fairly basic site in terms of facilities, but its location, warmth of welcome, and the way it is managed more than compensate.
On first arrival, my impression was that I'd unwittingly driven onto someone’s perfectly cut lawn.
We camped on the slightly sloping lower field with its lovely view across to the hills, and loads of space in the middle for ball games, kite flying etc. The more level upper field is equally spacious (and handier for the loos if you have children).
There are 3 toilets with handbasins (cold water only), and 2 coin slot showers with handbasins and chairs.
Neville and Jenny keep this site (loos included) exceptionally clean and tidy and are very friendly and accommodating. The fees are very reasonable, and overnight freezing of ice packs is free.
It is a quiet location, never remotely crowded, and is ideally situated for exploring this beautiful area.
Porth Oer (Whistling Sands) is a 20-minute walk over the fields, and Aberdaron a slightly longer walk along the lanes. A drive up to the old look-out point is well worth the effort, giving access to an abundance of coastal footpaths.
All in all, a gem of a site.

Really liked this site. It is very rural and peaceful with great views over the surrounding hills. The camping fields are spacious and well maintained.
The facilities are basic but more than adequate and are always clean. Showers cost 20p for a good supply of hot water. The owners are really friendly and helpful. Our dog was poorly when we were there and they were really caring.
The site is amazing value for money and is close to the beautiful National Trust village of Aberdaron. There are plenty of stunning coastal walks nearby.
The only down side for us was negotiating the narrow lane to the site with a caravan. However, it was well worth the effort.
The perfect place for a rural retreat in lovely countryside. Would definitely like to return.

I (we)have been camping at this site since 1970 (age 4). Hardly missed a year until going away to University and then emigrating to Florida. Mer Melyn is in the blood and the owners are like family. I cannot tell you how many happy family holidays we have spent camping, kiting and even learning to drive (is that allowed?)at this site. A very pleasant walk (particularly if the sun is shining) down to the village of Aberdaron. The water is toooo cold for me now but the only way to spend the day (as a kid) was down on Aberdaron beach and snorkeling.
Mynyth Mawr provides wonderful sunset views and if you are lucky, you can see the Wicklow Mountains in Ireland. Check out the Sarn Pottery - absolutely wonderful local (re-located) potter. Favorite 'day outs' are Abersoch (makes for a change of beach pace) and Porthmadog (particularly for a rainy day). Truthfully, there are so many wonderful beaches at this end of the Llyn Peninsula and some offering seclusion and privacy, it will take you years to discover and enjoy them all.

We've visited this great little site twice now this year & will definitely be going again. Fields are kept like a bowling green (well, almost!). Facilities are basic, 2 coin op shower rooms & 3 toilet / washrooms (no hot water in sinks though), but are kept nice & clean. There seems to be enough to prevent much waiting, even on Bank Hols. Pitches are kept round the edge of the two fields to allow plenty of space for ball games, kites etc. There is also a small kids play area round the back of the showers. Site is about 1.5 miles from Aberdaron village and close to some lovely beaches. If you like friendly, well kept, quiet sites and dont mind basic ameneties then this one fits the bill! ps £4 per tent per night.
