I quite liked this site. We were in the upper field where you can park next to your tent - the rustic one looks lovely next to the river but you need to carry all your stuff down and we didn't notice it until we had set up. You could have fires down there too.
Lots of midges around at sunset but ok for the rest of the day.
There are the odd rope swings for kids but no actual playground.
Charged £5 pp & £4 per child so not super cheap. Nice soft toilet paper now in toilet block which was clean and airy (at least women's was). The showers are fine but you need 20p for 5 minutes. Sexistly enough the only washing up sinks are in the women's bathroom so that might cause some arguments! The women's also has an old mangle which was pretty impressive.
Nice walks around and not far to the village

Stunning scenery, beautiful location, tents with EHU are put in the furthest field away from the toilets/showers which means its a good 5 min walk to them.
There are a lot of static homes located here all with their own facilities, yet for some bizarre reason the campers with obviously no facilities are sited the furthest away from the loos - work that one out!
Facilities are adequate but very dated, think they were built circa 1970, clean but very out of date compared to other sites we have been to, you also have to pay for the showers 20p for 5 mins, which is a bit of a cheek on top of the pitch fee you have already paid.
We had also rang up 2 weeks beforehand and were told it was £15 a night for us, however when the farmer came for his money the price per night had gone up by £1.00.
One other thing, the pot washing facilities are located within the ladies toilet block, there are none in the mens
Nice area, but the minor gripes above and the fact the farmer charged us more than we had agreed on the phone, would mean we wont be returning here. There are too many other campsites to choose from these days

Did you know you can still buy shiny toilet paper? You must be able to because that is what you will find in the toilet block here. The shower gives reasonable length of time for 20p but is housed in a scruffy small space which seems to extend upwards and backwards to the roof in a tangle of plumbing and spiders webs. It would be a very cold space if the weather was bad.
The camping field has very few level bits and the rest is very steep. I think £10 for a campervan and one person for the night was too much for this.

We decided to book at Westfield Farm following the positive reviews. And here's another positive one to add to them!
We opted for the 'rustic' area and were escorted there by the slightly odd farmer on a quad bike, (he initially took us to the upper field which was very busy and full of cars and children- not what we wanted!)
The rustic area is down a short track and you have to leave your car at the top and carry everything down. It was dry when we went but I can imagine it would be quite slippery in the wet.
The area is fantastic. Especially if you fancy a bit of peace and quiet! there is a stream running alongside and there are countless firepits (Mr. Farmer will bring you logs- he charged us £5, but that may have been because he could tell we were from the city!)
You can camp anywhere but the ground is very very un-even so it might take a while to find a good spot.
Take LOTS of insect repellent! By the stream it's midgie central at night! Almost unbearable!
The toilets are very far away and the showers (through now free) were, when we went, only dispensing freezing cold water!
The showers/toilets are actually the caravan parks and not the farms- the farm doesn't have any.
There is a good pub at the end of the road The Bridge Inn but it is miles away from the campsite- you would have to walk for about 40 minutes through the caravan parks to get to it!
I recommend visiting How Stean Gorge, it's great fun- think yellow helmets, clambering around in a wet cave with a torch and generally getting wet and feeling like an explorer (or maybe that's just me!)
It's £5 and there's a good cafe with homemade cake. Though there were young children going down I wouldn't personally think it's safe enough, there are bits you can go to which are child-friendly but the best bits are the wet cave and Tom Taylors cave which are definitely not!

We had a thoroughly enjoyable weekend at this campsite. It was very peaceful and relaxing, just what we wanted. There are two fields for tents: the upper field and the 'rustic' field. The rustic field is down by the beck with firepits etc and bit further from the facilities. We stayed in the upper field, surrounded by fields of sheep, with beautiful views of the valley towards Pateley Bridge. I think there were 9 other tents when we were there, all well spread around the perimeter, which ensured a quiet stay.
The facilities are about 5 mins walk away. They are basic, but then that's why we love camping! There are single-sex loos and these are where the washing-up facilities are (which meant I (female) got out of the washing-up twice, bonus!), there is a shower in the ladies and a unisex one with own separate door in the block. However, if you are reading this and looking for home comforts go to an all-singing, all-dancing site (Primrose Valley spring to mind, anyone?) where peace and quiet are unheard of! On that note, there is no children's playground either. So the odd child we did come across was at one with nature and didn't spoil our stay.
The pub at the bottom of the lane, The Bridge Inn, serves a great pint of Black Sheep and the food looked lovely! There is also a great, sociable beer garden where dogs are welcome!
Pateley Bridge has all the shops you need, even a wonderful deli. You must try the fish and chip shop up the High Street on the right!
There are some great walks to go on from the site, we walked part of the Nidderdale Way which runs right through the site!
We loved the site so much we are going back again this weekend! Hope you enjoy your trip as much as we did ours!

My other half persuaded me to go camping for a weekend for the first time ever, I was very sceptical and booked 2 nights at Westfield farm after seeing it on this site.
It was a great introduction to camping, the site is peaceful and in great surroundings.
The showers and toilets were clean and your 20p shower gave you hot water for ample time.
There are, as others have said, 2 sites for pitching tents, we were in the top field which was quiet and had lovely views over the fields. We did have a sneaky look at the 'rustic' site and it looked lovely so we will be booking to go there soon (maybe when it is drier though the steep hill to get down there looked a tad slippy).
There is a pub about 1 mile walk away which was really reasonably priced and served great food, and a mile on from that was Pately Bridge with all the amenities you could want, the guys in the Chippy on the main street were really friendly and the fish was lovely.
The whole surrounding area is really nice with plenty to do, we spent a lovely day at Fountains Abbey.
On the whole a great introduction to camping despite torrential rain and strong winds, would highly reccomend the site and the area.

We have just had a lovely weekend at this site.
It is in a truly beautiful setting, surrounded by farming fields with a river running alongside.
Our children aged 2 and 4 absolutley loved it, it is quiet and safe for them to run around, looking at the sheep, playing by the river with fishing nets and spotting rabbits and phesants.
The toilets and showers are baisc but as someone else has said adequete.
The area along side the river with the firepits was lovely and without children would be a great spot to camp and socialise.
The farmer and his wife are very relaxed and friendly, no fast rules, your allowed gazebos, fires barbques etc and the fees are very cheap.
There is lots to see nearby (Brimham rocks, Stump cross caverns, Limestone gorge.)and Pately bridge itself is lovely with plently of local produce shops for your shopping.
We will definitely go again!

Site at top of valley after half mile run of statics (which, in my opinion, spoil the valley), but beautiful countryside after the site with great footpaths and no roads.Great views from site
As mentioned on other review, interesting area next to river for children playing and camping, but too steep for vehicles.
'Traditional'facilities -children (clearly with a very sheltered upbringring) rather confused by their first encounter with hard toilet paper - what is the point of this? Toilet facilities clean, and the hottest water (dangerously so) I have ever had on a camp site. Rather grotty 20p operated shower, controls confusing to simpletons like me but trickle lasted for a long time. Single sex dishwashing, because the sinks are entirely within toilet block and in the case of the gents 2 feet from the urinals.
Owner works hard to maintain the yorkshire farmer reputation for a dry sense of humour (which is easily mistaken for grumpiness - then again maybe he was just rude and grumpy). Reluctant to let us choose a pitch ona fairly empty unreserved field and wanted us to pitch too close to a large motorhome, presumably he was anticipating a rush. Reasonable prices, but owner came back to charge us more because of the size of our awning tent, which I didn't contest but he closed with a rather insulting 'nice try' - he clearly thought I was deliberately trying to con him.
Overall nice location and ok for a short stay, but doubt I would go back.

Spent the weekend hear whilst the south was suffering serve flooding a couple of weeks ago! So the weather left alot to be desired, but as far as the campsite goes we still had a good time!
This is a beautiful and pleasant campsite, and was a very nice surprise on are first visit! Whilst lacking some of the more modern facilities you expect to find on larger modern sites, the benefits far outway the slightly dated (but more than adequete) toilet and washing block. The distinct lack of noise from children, amusements etc are a major bonus and the setting is wonderful. With various grassed areas on the top of the hill to pitch tents, there is also a beautiful river side paddock with numerous firepits and plentyful fire wood that the owner does his best to supply (so no need to go chop tree's down!)
You can pitch down there, but its too steep to take the car down, so you would have to carry everything down. Its much more sheltered than "uptop" and beware floods!
We pitched "uptop" and setup a gazebo down by the stream, were we spent the night having a BBQ and lighting a good fire, which you can't do on most sites! Just makesure you keep the owner happy by clearing up all your mess! (He's the chap who blast's about on a quad bike and comes and collects your nightly fees!)
Going again this weekend, due to the good weather forecast, and planning to pitch by the stream, and chill for the weekend! Patley bridge is a 5 minute drive and has all the facilities you could need, shops, petrol, bank etc. Ideal location to base yourself if your planning a longer stay to explore the area! Brimham rocks, How Stein Gorge very close by, North Yorks Moors, Harrogate and York all driveable from hear for days out etc.
Highley recommended A+ for me!
