Heronbrook is a lovely level site, short grass and some hard standing.
Good open countryside and well away from the main road so Quiet and peaceful for a good nights sleep.
A lovely warm friendly welcome on arrival from the site owner. Everything we needed was on site, there are some good walks from the site to and along the local canal.
Nottingham City Airport is only a couple of fields away, we were really lucky the weekend we were there a Two seater Spitfire was using the runway.
We will certainly be returning again.

A lovely clean, quite site, with easy access to the village and canal, we will visit again to explore the area more thoroughly.
Although staying without children, we gave an average mark of five for Child Friendliness since we couldn't leave it blank.
We gave an eight for the location as we only stayed overnight and didn't see much of the local area.

A lovely quiet cl site close to the Grantham Canal, disused, Still nice to walk from site. also walked to Cotgrave village 2 pubs, a local sainsburys, a coffee gift shop lovely cakes last of all a the country park.
Close to bus stop and a park and ride for Nottingham. Lots of places to visit around the area easy to find from the A46 of the A52.
The owners are very friendly does not haven shower or toilet block we don't need these. At this time of year sanitisers for taps etc left to be used.
They do welcome children onto the cl they need to be able to entertain themselves.

Loved everything. Lots of walks. Really friendly owners. Lots of room. About a 20 minute walk (various routes) to the village where there are a couple of shops and a pub.
Country park is just across the road. Canal walk very near. No unpaved dangerous roads. As we have two dogs this is essential. Will definitely be back.
(No toilet or shower but the price reflects this).
Owner supplies extra long cables if needed.

I agree with the last two reviews. This is a cracking little campsite. The footpath to the village (20 mins, a Sainburys, two pubs and the bus into Nottingham which costs £2. 10)is now well-trodden and it's a lovely walk over a field to the canal which is very pretty and fantastic for walking and cycling. On the main road outside the campsite there is a cycle path down to the canal and it takes 5 mins to get there.
We were lucky enough to have beautiful weather and whilst cycling on the towpath saw fish, swans sitting on nests, ducklings and even a grass snake swimming. It was a nature lovers dream. The campsite itself is spacious and quiet with a little wooden information shed.
As stated before, no toilet or washing facilities, but we personally don't need those anyway as we always use our own. Also the site is nowhere near the road so very safe for kids.

This is a nice quiet little site, it is all grass and pretty level. There are no loo or showers so you will need your own facilities, there are electric hook ups. It is about ten minutes walk to the canal and cotgrave country park, great for the dogs. There is a fishing lake there too. From the site there is a short cut to the village though it is a little overgrown and not well walked where I was told there is a shop and a pub. There is an airfield nearby with light aircraft flying over head and you do get some planes from East mids airport but they just added to the interest and we didn't hear any at night.

We have stayed at Heronbrooke a few times found it to be very relaxing and the scenery is very nice plenty of walks. Five minuites from the Nottingham - Grantham canal now under restoration. The owners are very helpful. This is a caravan CL site open all year - well recommend it
