We came here as the weather was better and it is near Zeebrugge where we were catching the ferry to Hull. This was despite knowing the site was 90% statics. Our pitch was a good size and flat but on its own surrounded by statics. The toilet blocks were clean but basic (no seats or paper). The reception was good and spoke English about the standard of my French but OK. During the week it was quiet but not so at weekends. The town of Fort Mahon is about 2km and is a pleasant typical French seaside town with good restaurants and a mini market, This site is not for tourers. It has no waste water point and one water tap which was VERY difficult to get to. There is a chemical toilet emptying point. There is a pleasant swimming pool, a basic shop and daily bread available.

This is a well located site on the edge of Fort Mahon, though it is a fair hike to the beach & town. There is a supermarket 5 minutes walk from the site which has a bakery & a well stocked fish stall outside.
There is a market in Mahon on Tuesday & Friday mornings & in Rue on Saturday mornings ( recommend a visit ) Mahon is a good sized family resort. Nearby is the Belle Dune resort which has an 18 hole golf course & a fantastic fun pool (recommend a visit). The beach is long & flat & loaded with sea shells which makes it great for evening stroll at low tide, It also has some fantastically high dunes which are a great place to sit with a bottle of vin to watch the sunset.I found everybody very friendly on this site & in the surrounding area & towns.
The site has nightly entertainment which is mostly outside - so this is not a quiet site! But the locals are very friendly & will make you feel welcome, the entertainment was of good quality & a good variety. This site also has 2 pools, one is warm & indoors the other is outside & refreshingly cool.
We stayed in a static caravan which was in good order but did not have an oven or grill. The statics were quite close together compared to UK sites. I looked at the touring pitches & to be honest they are cramped & sandwiched between the statics, & because of the night time noise I would not recommend this site to campers at all as there are plenty of nicer camp sites in the area.
On departure day you are expected to leave your unit clean (as you found it) & you have to wait for an inspection before you can depart & my parting memory of this site is of 3 jumped up skivvys inspecting our caravan like corporals on bull day. - Not Good!
Summary - a nice site, great people & my 2 teenagers gave it a big thumbs up.

We stayed here for 2 nights, using it as an overnight stop (going down to, and returning from) our main holiday in the Loire. The site is mainly for static mobile homes, with some pitches available for tourers/camping.I thought the pitches were quite compact, and the ones that were empty looked fairly bumpy, I wouldn't fancy putting a tent on one!
All the usual facilities are on hand;Bar, with small shop area, toilet blocks, quite a decent play area including Boule pitches, a take away and swimming pool-neither of which we had time to use! All pitches had electric hook-up as far as we could see.
We stayed in 1 of 3 "Chalet de Nuit",the triangular white building on the website! It has 4 fixed bunks, bedding, a light and a socket(handy for charging up phones etc) and thats it. It does however mean we didn't have to unpack the tent just for 1 night.Cost around 35 euros a night- 2 adults and 2 kids.
We thought the town (3 minute drive away) would be a little sleepy - but it is in fact quite lively, plenty of bars, restaurants, beach shops (cheap shoes, shorts, jackets etc). Our first meal in France was Mussels and Fries for 9 euros each, all fresh and big portions - fantastic. The beach is huge - couldn't see the end of it!
We would definitely return to the area, Picardie is a beautiful region and is only an hours drive from Boulogne, but if we were camping would probably find a local site with more of an emphasis on tented visitors.
