 Great site for Almeria racing circuit, Western attractions, great walks, cheap food and drink in local hotel. Good EHU, Showers etc good sized pool. Some real Spanish villages to visit for Tapa's and various snacks, some great wild life and sunsets and only a 25 minute drive to the beach for a day out.

I've stayed at Ore Verde several times in the last year and will be going back this year. The site is clean, spacious and well looked after by a very friendly team. At the closest bar (The Calatrava) the food and drinks are good and reasonably priced. The surrounding area is stunning, especially the view from the windmills, which are about 5 miles to the south.

Oro Verde is situated in the beautiful Deserta de Tabernas in Andalucia. The location is wonderfully serine and peaceful.
The Spaghetti Western films were made around the area, and one can see why; the desolate, golden hills in the distance, dry shrubbery and tumbleweed, one can certainly imagine a mounted Apache chief appearing on the horizon. In fact this may be the case if you are at the one of the film studios less than 5 miles from the site. Some are still being used to this day and the area has been used in such Hollywood films as Indiana Jones: The Last Crusade. The Oasis studio and zoo has been turned into a delightful tourist attraction with all the gun fights, jail-breaks and saloons you could hope for, along with a huge zoo.
Don't let the isolated area's aesthetics fool you, you will receive a warm reception from all the local bars such as the Calatrava hotel (10 min walk from site)and from the English site owner and wardens.
The site is set among rows of olive trees, from which oil is made and sold on site - really authenticating the Spanish feel. There is a big swimming pool and poolside area in the shade, or out, with chairs, tables and a fridge. Other facilities include a spacious shower block with showers, toilets, a washing machine and dryer and sinks outside. There is also a selection of books and dvds to borrow. There are also electricity hook-ups around the site.
The site is roughly 5 miles from the village of Tabernas, which you can get to by bus. On the way there are multiple good bars and restaurants. In the village there are many pubs and cafes where tapas can be found. There is a bank, shops and supermarkets.
The site is 20 minutes away from Almeria, which is one of the biggest seaside resorts in the region and full of good night life.
Mojacar is another beach town, situated 45 minutes away. There are a host of fresh fish restaurants, bars and clubs along the shore.
The site is beautifully situated and well maintained, the staff are friendly and helpful and give you great value for money. I would highly recommend this site to anybody travelling through the region or planning a holiday there.

Earlier this year my wife Julie and I visited Oro Verde for a couple of days while touring Spain. After a little problem finding it, we were rewarded with your a wonderful site. Dot and Ian made us most welcome and while the pool looked tempting it was a little too chilly for a dip (in Feb). We visited Nijar via wild mounain roads and ended up at Fort Bravo where they performed a gun fight at the old saloon for us. Fantastic!
When we are next in Spain we shall definitely be going back to Oro Verde,
