Great site which we stay on very frequently. It has everything for the vanners and tenters. Obviously by name it caters for fishing holidays but the great thing is that its always quiet and people respect each other. People are friendly and the owners are proper characters. The cafe does a big brekkie which I tend to sample on a regular basis, along with most other foods.
I regularly pitch my van on here as I use it as a base for working away but during the summer the mrs and kids visit and always enjoy it. Infact my lad of 6 came 2nd in a fishing match last year and he's never fished before !. The other fishermen on site showed him some basics and off he went. The manager is always helpful and there should you need him. The site offers gas as well which is a bonus and its at good rates. Ive stayed there a lot over the last 4 years and its nice to say that I feel safe when staying there, this may sound weird but other places sometimes feel a bit strange to me. There are lots of regular summer people there also, who have the same pitches each year and the site has a good family feeling. The site is being improved year by year and is well kept during the summer.
There isnt loads for kids to do unless they like fishing but cleethorpes is only 15 mins away and mablethorpe only 40 mins. But hey, they don't charge haven type rents either.

Stayed for 4 days in August - seems to be a lot of construction work going on near the entrance which made it appear a bit scruffy. We were pitched near one of the fishing ponds and although there wasn't much room between our front door and the pond, it was a nice view, especially at sunset. Only problem was the wasps - an almost Biblical plague ; although there's nothing the owners can do about that, if you go in summer, take some insect repellant and antihistamine. Both my husband & I were stung for the first time in our lives. Maybe the proximity of the water attracts more insects.Facilities adequate with washing machine, tumbler and washing up sink in a separate utility room. No facilities for kids, as such - this is definitely for the fishermen. A lot of year round caravan residents but day passes available. Cafe on site, run by the owner, Maggie - again, used largely by the fishermen and although we didn't use it, the smell of bacon from there on a morning was very inviting !
Caistor was a quite strenuous up hill 15 minute walk but has a nice pub with meal specials each night, an Indian and Pizza takeaway, a Co-op and a couple of other shops. Drove to a few nearby towns, including Mablethorpe and generally had a good holiday.

Just arrived back from a lovely bank holiday weekend at Caistor Fisheries. The only bad part of the weekend was the weather as it was very windy.
The site was lovely, the facilities good and clean although there was only one toilet in the shower block this didn't cause any problems. The cafe was good and Maggie and the staff very friendly and helpful. We were pitched around one of the ponds and although apprehensive as we had small children we had no problems and found it very peaceful and relaxing. There are many caravans on the site all year round and the owners chatty and helpful also giving tips on fishing.
Caistor village is within walking distance although we tended to go in the car and there is a well stocked co-op, chippie, chinese and indian takeaway as well as a pizza place. The pizza place also delivers to the site and was very nice! Just what we needed after putting up tent and all the gear.
All in all an enjoyable weekend and we are planning on more weekends there this year. Would highly recommend to anyone thinking of visiting the site.

We were three families in 3 tents and found this site as last resort for a bank holiday break. Turned up on what we thought was a building site, but when Maggie showed us to our pitches between fishing ponds 3 and 4 we were over the moon. A lovely site with clean showers etc. A good tackle shop and plenty of fish to be caught. Friendly staff and fellow campers so looking forward to returning this year. Good bank holiday rates!

Just returned from this great site, at first I was a little apprehensive about taking two young kids (4 and 7) with no play area and lots of fishermen around, (some fishermen can get a little annoyed if there's lots of noise) but not the case here. There are a hand full of resident tourers that visit over the weekend who's hubbies fish and they were fantastic with the kids. All though there was not much for the children to do, mine loved it although they do know to keep the noise down when dad's fishing. The cafe does a lovely full English and the toilets and showers are kept very clean (free too, hairdryer in the ladies as well). The site is kept clean and tidy at all times, also if there's anything you need Maggie is always there to help (I think she was the site manager). She met us in the car park on arrival and was very friendly throughout our stay. There's a small village just 2 mins away with a Co-Op/Spar/Post office/pubs and chemist. Also Chinese /pizza and Indian takeaway we tried the Indian and it was lovely. So on a whole we will be returning.
