Have just arrived back from a three night stay at Lees Hall. The location was beautiful and the site owners are very friendly and helpful. As the other reviews say the toilets and showers are not the best but the showers are free.

For £15 per night with an awning, electric and two dogs that is fantastic. There is a lovely pub just down the road called the rose and crown. We would definitely go back to this site again

I was looking for a site for a couple of nights and this was the only one which had vacancies. Price wise it was the same for my tent (£6) as Toms field in Swanage but for me there was just no comparison. I got the impression its mainly used for caravans a lot of which looked like they were permanent fixtures. There was space in the centre of the field for tents of which there were 2 of us.

Maybe the reason why there were only 2 toilets for each sex was because they don't get many tents and caravans have their own facilities. The toilets looked like they had just been mopped when I got there but I don't think it was swept first. Sorry May be a little picky here. I know its camping but I like clean toilets. There was a sink with hot water and paper towels to dry hands.

There were also 2 showers but had to admit I never used them! They were free as far as I can see. There was one sink to wash the pots but again I didn't use this.

It was cheap and the lady that runs it was very nice. For a couple of days it was ok and it was very quite which was good for me

We stayed here briefly on our way to Lancashire.

Beautiful surrounding countryside but strange site, which seemed to be populated mainly by permanent caravan dwellers. Facilities were not clean, although paper towels were provided in the toilets.

The shower was dismal and dirty and hot water in the sinks was obtained via small water heaters, which was not adequate for washing up. The most annoying part was the fact that we were charged £15 per night - far more than we have paid for much cleaner and better equipped facilities.

The site owner was very pleasant, but we certainly would not stay here again.

Went to have a nosey around this site yesterday with a view to some therapeutic campage - I think it's safe to say we won't be going. The site was full of caravans, but they looked as if they were stored rather than being used (no cars or people, but I guess everyone could have been out!) The loos and showers were very basic to say the least and hadn't been used for a while. The pot washing area was being used to store some rather beautiful pots of geraniums - lovely plants they were too.

The campsite is in a lovely area with a smashing pub just down the road. It is a great shame it needs some attention and TLC.

Stopped on this site because my brother booked it before I had chance to look on here!?! It was a bit of a strange site, mainly populated by touring vans that looked like they hadn't moved in years. But there was loads of space and the EHU pitches we were put on were level and the ground was good. The facilities were basic (2 male and 2 female toilets and 2 showers of which one was not working) but they were clean.
Arrived on the Wednesday but the owners were away (they had informed us they would be) but they came to check on us when they were back the next day. The site is quiet, with very little coming and going and is located in the middle of nowhere (no good for shopping or finding a petrol station). The price was good, at £12 per night, and that was all inclusive (we had a BIG tent and 2 cars). We would stop again if we were in that area!

We spent two nights here over the weekend and had a lovely visit. There were only a few tents there the rest of the site, and the better pitches, given over to small caravan's which were evidently pitched for the season - some in very poor condition - if you take small children that are prone to investigating be careful they don't venture into not entirely secure awnings of empty tents. The site was quite basic but did have showers and a pot washing area. If you camp at the bottom of the lower field be aware there is a footpath that goes past the tent so its not as private as it first appears. The "regulars" in the top field were very friendly and we felt very welcome. The lady owner was also very friendly.I'll be going back. Handy for Ashbourne and Derby, Alton Towers, Dovedale its a great base, there are no shops close by so make sure you pick up some milk before you get there. It was very peaceful at the site, bar some uncontrolled children still out running about at 5:30am, however they didn't come back the second night. There were some lovely young calves and some loud bulls
