I have just returned from a midweek break at Beauport with my partner.
We are regular ‘tent’ campers but decided on a last minute deal to this static caravan park as the weather had been pretty grim in the run up to our week off. We booked two days before we were due to go and managed to get 4 nights away in a ‘Gold’ caravan for an unbelievable £79 (brochure price is £155, which for up to 6 people is still very reasonable!)
The site itself is set in a beautiful woodland hillside setting. This gives it a very nice landscape over different levels, with some wonderful views from the decking and footpaths. This is a nice change from the usual flat ‘military like’ evenly spaced caravans that you find in other campsites with statics. Although there appeared to be quite a few caravans in use, it was extremely quiet and peaceful.
The caravan itself was amazing, spotlessly clean and comfortable, fully equipped with all kitchen ware and cooking utensils, microwave, TV / DVD player, with great big rocking/reclining sofas, an en-suite toilet off master bedroom and extra toilet/ shower room.
There were gas radiators in all rooms, and large windows making the caravan warm, bright and airy. It was extremely spacious for just the two of us, would have probably been a squeeze for 6 but just big enough for 4 people.
The clubhouse / Bar / Restaurant is well designed being split into sections. Pool table & seating, Bar with tables and comfy settees, and separate eating area. Also a DJ /Dance floor area (which was not in use whilst we were in there).
The drinks (alcohol and hot) were reasonably priced and the food offered generous helpings at extremely good value for money (Chicken Pie, chips and peas £5, Burger and Chips £4). The staff were friendly and welcoming, both in the clubhouse and at reception.
The outdoor pool area was not yet open during our stay but appeared to be pretty much complete and of an adequate size. There was also a children play area / climbing frame being built just in front of the clubhouse. We did not use the small gym on site or the facilities available for us to use at another ‘Park Holidays’ site 2 miles down the road (I believe they had an indoor pool).
There is no shop on site but due to its close proximity to Hastings town centre (under 4 miles) and several large supermarkets, this was not a problem at all. There was also a superb Chinese takeaway (Formosa) nearby, that deliver to the site!
The location of Beauport Holiday Park makes it an ideal base for exploring East Sussex; we visited Hastings, Camber Sands, Rye, Eastbourne and Brighton.
This site has only recently been open for holiday guests as it was previously a private owner’s only park. What a little hidden gem it is! I would definitely recommend this site for anyone looking for a peaceful, stress free getaway in a lovely picturesque setting. I will certainly be returning again. When the weather gets too soggy for camping!
