 Our second trip to the Ardeche and put off by the high prices in L'Ardechois in Vallon, we picked this on the basis that it was close to the village centre. We couldn't have been happier with the site, and in fact propmtly extended our stay on arrival.
It's a small site, with only a handful of pitches so recommend booking, there are some tents and statics to hire but these are mainly tucked away behind hedges and we never really saw them. The pitches are pleasantly shaded, though can be prone to turning into a mud bath for the day during heavy rain.
Facilities were spotless, can't fault them at all. Even got our own private bathroom with baby bath free of charge. As mentioned by the other reviewer ( the in-laws ) canoeing is available. We did this twice and found lovely beaches etc - recommended.
The owners, Steffan and Alex are lovely and will help in any way they can. There is some entertainment but it's family orientated and fairly low key - we travelled with a 3 month old baby and the noise never once bothered us. Music quiz, paella night, petanque competitions etc, all family based.
The pics on the website did give the impression that it could get possibly a little rowdy - this is not the case, don't let it put you off. Great family bar area overlooking the gorgeous pool, beer reasonable prices and wine v cheap. Food looked lovely, we only ate there once, had Thai curry and can highly recommend.
Rumons is a great little village, plenty of bars and places to keep you going for 2 weeks. Easy, flat 5-10 min walk. Lots of markets in and around Rumons to explore, definitely to go Argentiere for a day trip, is gorgeous. Super you on the road to Vallon, everything you could need. Cheap petrol.
Access to site is easy, good directions on the website, if coming from Montelimar exit be aware that you have to travel through Le Ciel - it is ok for caravans ( and HGV's) but you might want to hold your breath on some corners!
Cannot recommend highly enough, although there are many many sites, this was in an excellent location and just a nice size with very good facilities. The amount of repeat custom shows how good it is, we would definitely return.

This is a smallish site about 400 metres from the town of Ruoms in the Ardeche. The town it self is quite lively with numerous bars and restaurants. The site has some static caravans, static tents and pitches for tents, caravans and motor homes. It is extremely well run and well maintained. People who were staying here seem to be repeat customers some on their 8th year. The site also runs it's own canoeing facility and will drive you to specified starting points and will pick you up when you have finished. There is a bar and eating area and a good size pool. Next to the site is a wine cooperative which has a shop where you can purchase local wine at low prices. The site owners and the staff are friendly and helpful. It is wise to book in advance as there is a big demand for this site. We would certainly recommend it and return again
