Lovely wee site in a fantastic location.
Access to a lovely sandy beach, village 5 min walk.
Basic toilets & 50p piece operated showers, but spotlessly clean.
AJ very friendly and responsive to my emails.
Will definitely be back.
9/10 for facilities, would have loved a hairdrier in the ladies! 😬

Lovely site with direct access to a beautiful clean sandy beach which was ideal for us travelling with a dog.
The site was quiet and away from any road noise.
The showers and toilets were clean with coin operated showers.
We would definitely come again but would book for midweek because there wasn't much open in the village Monday and Tuesday.
There is a local shop selling essentials which is open daily till 8. 30 pm.
The site was good value and ideal to explore this beautiful part of the country.

Lovely small site near to beach and nice village.
Dog friendly.
I would have liked to have made booking by phone because I had trouble with on line reply.

This is an ideal small campsite, with great basic but spotless showers and toilets.
It’s right next to the lovely beach, an easy walk into the village, and is fantastic for watching sunsets - the only west- facing east coast beach!
It’s quiet and the people who run it are lovely

We loved this site with its close proximity to the beach and short walk into the village
The showers are a bit dated but clean, lovely and hot and well worth the 50p.
Everybody was so friendly and helpful.
We will certainly return in the future.

I hope that others will find this review useful and reading this will prevent them experiencing the same disappointment.
We arrived about 16:00h on a Monday afternoon to find the site unattended. We had not booked in advance. The toilet facilities were locked and there was a note pinned to the door explaining that the warden was on holiday and to call his assistant for help. So we did, and left several messages.
This site is a small field, surrounded by static caravans, and the camping area is in the centre. There is no view although the beach is just the other side of some of the statics. Fairly sheltered but overall nothing special. The beach is beautiful and Portmahomack is a very picturesque seaside village with a pub and shop etc. The surrounding area is fantastic for walking too.
After a couple of hours our calls weren't responded to, so we gave up and headed on to Dornoch. In fact, we never heard anything back over the next 2 weeks.
I would suggest you try to make contact with the warden before arrival rather than just rocking up, as we did.

Campsite was perfect for what we needed, the location was perfect for a lovely morning walk along the beach.
As much as I unfortunately didn't meet the owner as we were out all day, I know I could contact him at anytime if any issues and he was very friendly and welcoming when spoke on the phone.
The regulars in their caravans were extremely friendly and helpful and included my 2 children even although they were older than the rest in the games they had organised in the campsite.
Overall a lovely 2 nights spent.

Lovely position next to the beach although views from pitches were limited by the static caravans along the dunes.
Good welcome by AJ. Facilities clean, washbasins sparkling.
Photogenic bay and village

We love this wee gem of a site.
Yes toilet’s could be updated. Yes there could be a chemical disposal. And yes the prices could be double. But this is an adequate friendly site with a good warden who goes out of his way to welcome and assist ✔️
