What a little gem! Lovely people, such a quiet and peaceful haven.
We went for non-electric pitch, no one else on our part of the site. One toilet, shower and wash up facilities very clean.
Thoroughly recommend this site of you want to be away from it all.
When we stayed there was a very friendly foal in the field next door, and the free eggs are delicious.
10 out of 10 from me!

Friendly owners. We were only people on the site. One unisex shower, one toilet and washroom. Hot showers, hot water for washing up and games room next door with darts, games, TV etc, all in the bunkhouse.
Individual sheltered pitches.
Peaceful site, remote.

Just got back from a fantastic five day break. The owners are friendly, welcoming and very helpful. If you have any questions on the surrounding area then they are the one's to ask.
We were lucky enough to have to place to ourselves so we were allowed to pitch anywhere we liked. There are only five pitches, all with electric hook ups and are marked out with shrubs giving each pitch a sheltered cosy feel.
The ground is also level and easy to pitch on. The pitches wouldn't be great for large tents though. When booking I'd let the owners know the size of your tent if its over a 8 man tent you might struggle.
There is a single water tap at the entrance to the field. Opposite to this is where the recycling bins are as well as the chemical disposal point is.
The site also has a bunk house and a teepee to rent as well. You will have to check out their website for prices and booking. The bunk house is also where the one unisex toilet, shower, freezer and washing up area is. All of which where well kept and clean. The water is fantastically hot. The room next door to this is where there is a small games room.
This is a great site for animal lovers, On their small holding they have horses, free range chickens and ducks that freely wander the site. The wild life around the site is vast as well. We also had one of there three cats come and visited us on a daily basis too. Your dog will be welcome but must be kept on a lead.
If your after a place to escape the world then this is the place, No road noise, no light pollution. The stars were breathe taking. Sat next to an open fire (allowed off the ground)watching the night sky with the occasional bat swooping passed you was amazing. One of the most peaceful places I've been to this year.
The surrounding area and reservoirs are well worth exploring. Found the area lovely and so were the local people.
We will be visiting again in the future.

Back to reality after 6 wonderful nights in mid Wales which was well worth the effort of getting to. If you want hustle, bustle and entertainment that many sites provide then this is not for you. If on the other hand you crave peace, tranquillity and a laid back atmosphere, then this hits the spot. There are only 5 large pitches, with the only slight criticism being that the grass needed cut and a path free of nettles to the EHU. There was even a set of steps that helped us with our roof box.
Other than ourselves there was only a caravan with a lovely couple and a camper van who only stayed the one night.
The ducks and chickens roam free all day, there are red kites in abundance and tales of an otter in the stream, although we were not lucky enough to spot it.
The facilities are plenty for the site, with a dish washing area, shower and toilet, tumble dryer and a freezer. This area then leads through to a sitting room with a TV, video and DVD, books boardgames and a dart board. There is a bunkhouse that can be hired and a teepee all kitted out.
You are a couple of miles from Pant-Y-Dwr with the Mid Wales Inn then through St Harmon to Rhayader with all the usual village facilities. There are plenty of homes around that sell a variety of eggs and veg. It is well worth a drive around the area to give your gearbox a good work out!
One word of warning is that the horse flies are hungry so be prepared with your preferred insect repellant.

This site is my idea of how camping should be. A beautiful site in a beautiful location. Peace and quiet in abundance. A small site, all level pitches. All five pitches are generous in size, hedged allowing for privacy with EHU if needed. There is one shower, one toilet and a sink for washing up all of which are housed within the bunkhouse. Facilities are basic but spotless. Sitting outside the tent, cup of tea in one hand, crossword in the other with Red Kites soaring above. Bliss. Would recommend to anyone wishing to visit the beautiful Elan Valley and surrounding area. Excellent value for money at only £4 per person per night. The nearby town of Rhayader which is approximately 8 miles away, is small but has more pubs than any other village I have ever visited. A small one stop supermarket, a couple of cafes, chip shop and a few other small shops pretty much cater for all your needs. Would definitely recommend.

Wanted some that was quite and secluded and got just that. Site owners are as nice as you get. Toilet and shower are free and clean and lashings of hot water if you need it. This site is basically on a small farm / small holding with ducks, chickens and friendly cats walking about and pigs sheep and horses the other side of the fence, above you there is an abundance of Red Kites.
We booked for just the first night of the four we were touring Wales but ended up coming back for the last two as it was so peaceful. For what we wanted it was perfection.

We went here for peace and quiet and access to the Elan Reservoirs for fly fishing and got bucketfuls
This is a no thrills, as it says on the tin, site which is like being on another planet, peaceful secluded. The owners were as helpful as you wanted them to be.
I fished the brook on site which looked inviting as we were there the hottest day of the year so far and caught a brownie and the wife, well talk about somewhere to unwind.
Couple of points: this site is as it says on the can secluded, a good 15 - 20 minute drive at least from Rhayader, we were the only ones on site so it was great, we did not see any play equipment as such but with 14 acres and the animals my 2 - 6 year old grandchildren would have worn themselves out.
Only camping facilities are water, electric hook ups and disposal of waste, however they have a tipi and bunkhouse on site so if you needed anything else I am sure owners would be obliging
OH by the way Douglas no longer exists but Tami does and she was wonderful. Definitely going back again
