Private grassy plot behind the pub. Slight slope easily reminded with wedges. Warm welcome from manager and staff, despite being only one day in following covid relaxation.
The beer garden well organised for distancing, and a special area for running around children. Plus a megga barbecue going for hot tasty food.
Then slept well awaken by birdsong, and slightly muffled traffic.

Lovely site behind pub, Unknown to us it had a toilet and 2 showers which were an added extra. Pub lovely and friendly and food, particularly on 'pie night '(Thursday) was fab. Only downside for us, not having car, was no buses into Congleton and had to get cab. Still only £7 into town. Congleton lovely to visit, park, shops etc and Wetherspoons (The Counting House) always makes for a good visit.

Excellent New Year break. Carol and Stuart are really welcoming and very helpful. Delicious meal on New Years Eve followed by informal evening in cosy bar with huge log fire and complimentary glass of champagne at midnight. Food delicious in restaurant on New Years Eve but food is available every day and you can choose to eat in bar or restaurant. Sunday lunch is recommended. Site is very secure and although it is grass and slightly sloping we did not have any problems. A clay pigeon shoot is held on the 1st sunday of the month and is well attended. Walks nearby include public footpath route into Congleton and towpath walk into Kidsgrove. Thoroughly enjoyable stay.

The campsite is by the side of the pub and is kept in lovely condition grass cut short and nice shrubs. It;s slightly sloping, has electric hook up and an Elsan point and water point and bins. There is a play park and a good dog walk The pub was friendly, it does guest ales and meals, the log fire in the pub was very inviting. Because you are close to the A34 you can hear the noise from the road in the day, but quiets of at night Congelton town centre is a couple of miles away, the cl site is in a good location and would definitely go back
