Nice rural location but not too far off the main roads so it’s easy to find and accessible.
No Motorhome service point but manageable with hoses etc to fill up
Kept grey water on board and emptied at next location

First time here and very pleased with the experience. It's a small, quiet, 5-van site on a working farm and has all you'd need for a short or even a longer stay.
We found the farmer very pleasant and accommodating and nothing seemed too much trouble. The toilets and showers are fairly basic but perfectly adequate - especially for £12 a night. There are plenty of electric hook-ups and water supplies so we were well catered for.
After a fortnight of heavy rain the field was waterlogged and we got the caravan stuck partway onto the field. The farmer was very helpful, didn't make a fuss, and was reassuring in that he was very happy to pull it out for us when we wanted to leave - which he did. He even brought us a large mat to put outside the caravan so we could step on that rather than squelching!
The site is easy to get to as the roads around it are excellent. It would be a very convenient stop-off if travelling up or down the A1. There are a number of decent pubs and shops to get supplies without travelling too far. In better weather I'm sure the site and area will be a delight - something we intend to do later in the year. We'll definitely be back!

Stayed at Carrsides Farm for 3 days in October 2011 (Half-term holidays). Only £36 for our stay with electric hook-up.
We loved this campsite, as it was on a farm. There was only a couple other campers. The showers and toilets were okay.
The kids enjoyed playing with the farmer's dog in the field next to the caravan. The kids liked the pigs in the orchard and the horses in the fields.
It is an ideal base for us, as we went to Alnwick Castle and High Force.
I would recommend this campsite to anyone, as the people were friendly and helpful.
