Beautiful site, beautifully maintained.
Very peaceful.
Staff were very friendly and couldn’t do enough for you.
We parked up near the river and it was so picturesque.
We will definitely be going back.

This was our first visit to both the site and the area. It was a lovely quiet site with lots of wildlife.
It was one of the best places we have stayed whilst doing motorhome holidays in the last five years.
The wardens were approachable and friendly and really helpful.
The staff could not do enough for you. Due to a recent foot operation I found it really hard to use the usual showers and so they arranged for me to use the disabled facilities which I truly appreciated.
The site was kept immaculate and all I can say is, we will be back one day for sure.
Thank you to you all for your hard work and making our holiday extra special.

We liked the location and the fact that it was quiet and the pitches were spacious. The warden who greeted us was friendly and very welcoming, spending time to give us all the information we needed.
We felt that £50 was quite steep as the facilities were very limited, plus the nearest toilets to us were portaloos!
We are used to camping in France where most campsites have swimming pools and restaurants/bars and only charge about £20 - 30/Night with EHU
That said, there was a great dog walk with beautifully cut grass along the waterway and out to the seawall. I would recommend but not at that price sadly

Lovely views, friendly staff at reception, quiet(ish) plot.
Made for a beautiful evening watching the sun go down, however there were a few downsides to this site, firstly, the portaloos for the toilets which were smelly, not particularly clean and had no hand sanitizer in the dispenser.
There is a road behind the site which (and this is not the site fault) people racing cars go up and down with the exhausts which bang long into the night.
Also, there is little courtesy from some of the other campers - kids screaming and singing at full volume past the curfew time of 11pm.
It was enjoyable but not worth the £25 for a non electric pitch for one night.

Pleasantly Surprised!
Having lived in nearby Canewdon - we knew the area quite well. Now in the West Country - we came back for a family visit, and this was the only campsite to meet our requirements in the Southend area.
We were impressed with the layout, the pitch space and the facilities.
The site was nice and peaceful, clean and tidy, and we with the dog enjoyed the riverside walks. Shame we didn't have time to enjoy the on site fishing.
Although sited a bit "in the sticks" we had no problems getting a taxi into nearby Rochford and back during the evening.

The site was very clean, customer service lady was very friendly.
The site is quite far out through windy roads but worth the quiet pleasant views.
The ladies showers didn't have a sufficient pressure so takes awhile to wash your hair. Was clean inside shower cubicles.

Here once again to have a base to visit family in the area.
Lovely and clean site as always apart from the communal rubbish collection area but this was cleared and notices were on display apologising and notification of its due clearance was displayed.
Nice tidy site otherwise. Friendly. Toilets and Showers were very clean and in good working order.

Very quiet site but one of the reasons we booked it is because on the website it says that the Shepherd and Dog is within a mile but it most definitely not!
This meant that in order to eat out we had to drive which was not a lot of fun on narrow roads in a motorhome. Please correct your web page.
