This farm has been sold and is no longer operating as a campsite. It's rather a long way, down a dead end track, so don't take the trip! The road to it is full of potholes and there's lots of grass growing in it.

Not a lot of good points. We booked in 2 tents and a trailer tent with hook up and were told the tents would be 100yards away. The tents were a field away. The road leading into the tent field had a whole load of pot holes in it so take it slowly. We opted to take the trailer tent into the tent field so we could all be together.
We took our own drinking water, water comes from a spring on site. Toilets and showers were clean but are shared.
Two toilets and two showers.
We would only use this site in an emergency. We are not sure as to the price because we were told one price on the phone and charged another on site. I didn't like the idea of paying a £10 deposit by sending a £10 note in an envelope!

We just came back from this camp site and what a good weekend we had. We first arrived down a narrow lane, enough room for 1 car with the cottage in front of you, don't do what we did and carry on towards the cottage, turn left up the hill. Or park up and wait for Mrs Armistead to show you where to pitch a very nice lady.
For a bank hol I thought it would be over crowded but to my surprise it wasn't, there was plenty of space and it was like that over the bank holiday. We pitched near a path leading down to the toilets very well sheltered from the elements under a tree and the rest of the camp site is in the middle of a fores
The toilets were basic but well maintained and clean and they have a main shower / toilet block a short walk. They have some free standing sinks to wash pots in but we just boiled the water back at our tent and washed up there.
The path leading to the main toilet / shower block was not lit up so do take lantern / torch with you. There was plenty of midges only at dusk though so take some kind of repellent with you and the water is not for drinking so take some bottled water with you also.
There's a small park that only has 4 swings and a slide and a tree swing there's no shop on site so make sure you pack plenty gas cans etc. We had a great time here everybody was friendly and where booking for a week in the very near future.

My partner, 3 kids and myself stayed here last summer. Due to bad weather the campsite was quiet but we were led to believe it could get busy. The campsite is truely in the middle of nowhere but this is exactly what we were looking for. The campsite is situated on the edge of woodland and has spectacular views. The owners bent over backwards to help us and the toilets and showers were clean. There is a small play area with slide and swings. There are pleasant walks (long and short) nearby. We wouldn't hesitate to return to this site.

One of the most basic campsite I've stayed at but what a site, the owners are really friendly the only draw back was we went at Easter April 2007 and it was packed which caused problems with the toilets and the natives were not very quiet, but having said that I will stay there again with no second thoughts. There is no shop and no pub that you could walk to unless you are walkers in the first place, there is a play park of some sort but having no children with us I never went to investigate, still a very nice and quiet site if other user's behave.
