We stayed here during a very wet and stormy June half term. The site is extremely basic, the only facilities being a portaloo (not in the best condition by the end of the week and I don't think its a permanent fixture - just during main holidays, maybe best to phone and check).
There is no tap on this site but the local Total Garage in Brecon has an outdoor tap and other places we visited during the day were only too happy to fill up our containers. The owner will fill your containers from the spring at the farmhouse but it does have quite a lot of sediment in.
The site is flat and sheltered (stick to the river side of the site for best shelter). The only downside was it was fairly close to the A40 and you could hear traffic, although not constantly or ever very loud.
You can have fires (some fire pits already built) and firewood is readily available to find in the woods on site if its dry. (The Total Garage also sells firewood at reasonable price).
Dogs are allowed under control (the site is on farm land).
The owner was friendly and helpful. They were happy to freeze our ice-packs at no extra cost.
If you're looking for a basic and cheap site, this one is fab! The site is large and flat and we were nowhere near our 'neighbours'. Tent pegs are easy to push into the ground. Even after torrential rain for 36 hours our camp was not too muddy (but look for the higher ground as there were pools/puddles in the dips on site). The river rose substantially but was still nowhere near flooding the site.
The White Horse Country Inn does lovely, reasonably priced food 1 mile up the A40 towards Sennybridge. Brecon is only about 7 miles away (we used the Leisure Centre for a swim and shower).
There is access to the river, however we wouldn't let our children down the bank to it as it flowed pretty fast, and can be very deep in places.
We spent 4 nights here and hope to come back again (as long as the toilet is there! Minimum requirements for us!)

This is very picturesque site in the heart of the Brecon Beacons, highly recommended. It's a site that is being developed so is ideal if you don't want to be on a large camp site with your tent up against others.
Toilet facilities are provided, previously they could not be hired out at very short notice. There are two sites available, although a small third site is also available upon request should you wish to stay on your own. All of the sites are directly alongside two rives. Both also back onto woodland. Campfires and dogs on leads are permitted. Fishing is also available you just need to purchase a day pass.
There is a large village within walking distance with local amenities and two lovely country pubs close by, which do great food. The Shoemakers Arms at Pentrebach and The Lion in Defynnog.
The farmer is very welcoming and is great for advice about the local area.

Just spent wonderful weekend on this site. Quiet, on the river, bliss. Only suitable if you can cope with wild camping as no loos or shower but would have a hard job to beat location ! Farmer was very welcoming and ideal location for walking the Brecon Beacons. Will be back in a few weeks

Great little site for the family and children.
Dogs and camp fires allowed.
A quite and idyllic site with picturesque views and the river Usk running right by the site great shallow pools for little children and I believe that fishing is available.
A flat field well cut, this is a working farm.
The ideal location for exploring the Brecon Beacons area and walking.
There's also as well as the large site, a smaller site, still with the river Usk running by, which is more secluded and for people staying on the site more rather than travelling away. Which again has great views and is very peaceful.
We love the site, a very friendly owner always willing to help and offer advice.
Highly recommended!

I stayed here over Brecon Jazz festival last year and will most definitely be returning this year. The site is situated only 10mins drive from Brecon, and is a 2 minute walk to the main A40 road. We downloaded a bus timetable from the internet just in case, and the buses proved very handy.

A very enjoyable couple of days. The facilities are adequate and the staff are more than happy to help.
There is a large contingent of tourers that are permanently based on the site, who seemed to be friendly.
The biggest asset of the site is the swimming pool, restaurant and bar, although I was slightly disappointed that you had to pay an additional fee to go swimming.
All in all I would stay at the site again in the future.
