What a fabulous site. Was slightly concerned given the lack of reviews but shouldn't have been. Directions in the book are spot on. Site on a large flat grass area. All electric points are on one side so either have a very long lead or you will be close to your neighbours but not dangerously close. No toilets. £9. 50 a night which is great value. Nothing in the village but shop, chippy and pubs in next village a couple of miles away. Pickering 5 miles away Scarborough 13 miles. Perfect base for flamingo land. Owners only seen twice. Once when arrived and the other to pay. Didnt demand payment on arrival. Nice touch. Will definitely be back.

After spending many an enjoyable weekend break at this site we decided to experience a Wilton gatehouse New Year break! It was a really great time. The weather was good and as usual we were able to just chill out and relax taking our dog Holly off for walks in the surrounding countryside. It so happened that it was lambing time on the farm and I was able to experience first hand what this sometimes entailed all to the good I might add.
Elizabeth and Andrew the owners make you feel very welcome and indeed have become 'friends' - Elizabeths' strawberry jam is delicious and you can buy eggs from them too!
This site is flat and the pitches are well spaced. Hookups are available and the chemical point/water etc are good. You do need your own toilet/shower facilities. The entrance to the site is very easy and the directions to the site are excellent.
There are plenty of good pubs within a 6 miles radius offering great value for money meals.
We make a point of going into Scarborough/Malton/Helmsley as they are not too far away.

We have visited this site several times now and have become friends with the owners Elizabeth and Andrew. They are very friendly and nothing is too much trouble. The site is easily accessed and is well-maintained.
There is plenty of room for our boys to run around without intruding on anyone and we found some lovely walks through the picturesque countryside. The site has electric hookup, water and toilet disposal facilities along with recycling.
The freshly laid eggs are delicious along with the homemade strawberry jam which is the best we've ever had. We always make a trip to the foxhound inn at flixton when we are in the area.
The shops in pickering are very useful as we needed Halloween outfits for our boys. The site is a working farm and during our visits the boys have even been able to help to bottle feed the baby lambs.
There is also a donkey and two goats along with lots of chickens! We are booked to come back soon and can't wait.

Narrow quiet road, except for farm vehicles,
With passing places to site. Okay for a small caravan.
Choice of pitch on grassed, well kept field with hookups.
Quiet site, lovely views, peaceful location.
Poor TV reception- we didn't have booster signal.
Daughter and 2 dogs visited and were made welcome.
Owners were delightful, unobtrusive and friendly.
Not really anywhere to walk to - Thornton le dale a short car ride away.

My wife and I stayed at this site for three nights over Easter. It was lovely to wake up on Easter Sunday with beautiful views and an inch of snow lying all around. Even though there had been plenty of rain and snow over the weekend the field remained well drained. I found some good walks with my dog and while I was there I saw two Roe deer, a fox and numerous rabbits. The views of the site are beautiful and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay there. The owners are very pleasant and friendly and the free range eggs they sold us were very tasty and cheap. We thought this was an excellent site and plan to return as soon as we can.
