This site appears to be geared towards static’s rather than tourers, approx 99% static. Tourers are situated at the bottom of the site adjacent to some beautiful fishing lakes surrounded by fields with a number of donkeys within which are very friendly.
There are no specific pitches just a stretch of rather uneven grass with an embankment behind. There is no fresh water facility nor elson point within the touring area, water is obtained from within the toilet beside the reception or laundry room (a tap which in England would be where you fill buckets etc), the elsan point is the lavatory within the shower room beside reception.
There are no safety provisions around the lakes so if you have small children you would have to be extra vigilant as you are only feet away.
There is a large play area for football / basketball and some climbing frames suitable for older children which are situated beneath some trees a short distance from the touring pitches, however the play area is not visible from the touring area, there is also a very very large sand pit for playing ball games or building. There are two swimming pools, albeit the smaller one was out of order due to problems with the pump. The swimming pool is open for children from 1430 - 1900 hrs and adults can swim from 1200 hrs, the lifeguard is extremely vigilent, the best I have seen for a very long time.
Access into the pool area is through a shower and only persons wearing bathing costumes are allowed through, no personal possessions are allowed into the pool area except towels and reading material, bags and other items must be placed into insecure ’pigeon holes’ beside the bar area.
The pool was lovely, except I felt rather too small for peak season capacity. The owners are lovely but be aware they do not speak any English, however there is a wonderful English lady named ’Moe’ who resides on the site who can translate and will help you, a fantastic and vibrant lady.
There is a bar on site but no shop provisions, however the site is only minutes from the village where there are adequate stores/supermarkets. Upon arrival previous touring occupants had decided to use the embankment as the elsan point, however once staff were notified they immediately cleaned the area.
Lovely area for bikes and only a short distance to hire Kayaks and reasonably priced. Showers are by token and cost a whooping 1 euro 30, although they do last a reasonable length of time.
For electrical hook-up, I guess they must be rated 16A, superb. Although the site has no store a baker, meat and burger/chips van would all attend the site daily at various times, a nice addition.
Table tennis and pool tables situated outside the bar, along with a ’kids club’ type held for a couple of hours in the morning peak season, very good although everything in French.
Good security on an evening, access into the site via key fob barrier system, wifi available at the bar, 12 euro daily. A lovely stay, however this could not be said for the weather, down pours daily, I think the ’English’ weather followed us!

I bought a static van on this site 2 years ago & can highly recommend it. I've also taken my campervan in case I'm inundated with visitors in the static! I currently have a tent in my shed left by campers last summer who had no room to take it back! It's open all year and the facilities are excellent. It's extremely safe for young children and there are plenty of activities including 2 pools, a playground & a skateboard park. The site is next to the Canche where canoes can be hired.
Despite the weekend entertainment which can get quite noisy it doesn't disturb residents or campers and there are strict rules about noise pollution.
From June until September a mobile boulangerie and boucherie come on site daily. Run out when you hear the klaxons!
There's a toilet & hot shower near reception with high-power tap for water and a laundry block with two washers, a dryer and two large sinks with hot water where I often do hand-washing, which also has toilets & showers.
Pascale & Didier who have recently become managers of the site are warm, friendly and helpful, though they speak no English!
The pitch for tents/vans/campers is situated near the small fishing lakes where there's wall to wall wildlife. There are 4 donkeys, two of whom are allegedly pregnant and, until recently there were also 2 llamas who, sadly, have had to leave since the male became aggressive & tried to bite the ear off one of the donkeys.
Verte Vallee is in the seven valleys district of Nord Pas de Calais, equi-distant from Hesdin & Montreuil sur Mer where Les Miserables was written & is acted out annually. The area is peaceful & starkly beautiful; the coast is about 30 minutes drive away, Berck being about the nearest & Le Touquet the classiest with a huge Aqualand in and outdoors. If you buy tickets on site you get a discount.
The village, Maresquel Ecquemicourt which boasts a couple of cafes, chemist's, butcher's, post office, tabac & baker's is about ten minutes walk away. Trains stop there infrequently and I've yet to see a bus, but it's a cyclist's haven.
There's also a beautiful garden, Evia, where you can spend a whole day. There is a cafe, but it's nice to take a flask of tea & a picnic. Tennis courts are nearby for the more energetic and there's also a library which opens just a couple of times a week.
Every Sunday throughout the region from March to October there are 'brocantes' where you can buy virtually anything - from a motorbike to a pet hamster. Villages are closed to traffic for the whole day and vendors sell their unwanted goods from their gardens or pavements. There are usually refreshments and often some kind of entertainment is provided. A very colourful event!
Hesdin is a lovely town with festivals so loved by the French taking place throughout the year. A cybercafe is on the cards, but hasn't yet materialised. The tourist information office housed in the town hall is well-stocked & the staff speak fluent English & are very helpful.
I usually travel with Speedferries to Boulogne which is often under £20 but it doesn't take caravans & there's an extra tariff for non-standard cars.
The journey to the site from the port is under an hour. Add a good half-hour if you're travelling from Calais. The price for 2 in a caravan/camper is 92.50E/week rising to 175 for 6 people. For a single night the price ranges from 18.50E to 30E. Electricity's included.
