Lovely couple run a small family site. Hedge limited pitches, with hard standing for about 5. 8 elec. Points. 2 toilets and 2 showers - very clean. All pitches slope a little. Boulangerie au feu de bois in village. All essentials including English speaking vet in Fruges, 5 miles away. Access from Fruge direction is an open hairpin do-able with 8 metre 'van. Dogs welcomed. Swings for children. Very quiet location. N 50*29'58'. E 2*10'40'. Close to Agincourt (Azincourt), and near to Eperlecques, the Cupola, and historic sites at Montreuil and Fressin. Dozens of EDF tin whirrbines around the area. SatNavs suggest unsurfaced roads!

A quiet, well kept a well landscaped site. We stayed for three nights and would stay again.
The facilities were very clean. There were two swings and plenty of space to keep our two girls (5 and 7) amused. There wasn't anything within walking distance but lots of attractions etc. Within a short drive.
The owners were very welcoming and helpful and friendly towards our children. The site is in the middle of a farming region and has beautiful views. Good value for money with a discount for staying three or more nights.

A small rural site of about 20 pitches meant a quiet site, although be prepared for the local cockerel and farmers to be active earlier in the morning than you might want to be!
Certainly not a site for those wanting a pool, bar and nightlife!
Each pitch was individual and screened from the next with shrubs and trees and varied in size depending on your needs. It seemed to be popular with caravanners and campervanners with hardstanding for the vehicle ajacent to grass.
M and Mme Maquet were excellent hosts and obviously enjoyed running their site, offering information on the locality and the weather(M came to our aid in mending our picnic table, Mme gave the children a chocolate bar as we left).
Washing facilities were spotless although fairly basic but importantly - there was as much hot water as we needed. A communal fridge was an added bonus to us campers who didn't have power but an electric hookup was available to all pitches.
The site had a few swings for younger children but no specific 'games area'. Our children played on the unoccupied pitches and the expanse of grass around our tent.
A bakers using an ancient wood oven (but producing the most delicious bread - well worth waiting for it to come out of the oven)was the only village facility, nearest shops are in Fruges about 2 miles away.
The area is mainly farms and small villages which seem to run at a slower pace, offering a more relaxing experience than the more touristy areas. We were a group of 3 adults and 3 children staying for 1 week and still didn't do everything we wanted to do. There are lots of attractions and places of interest within the locality: Agincourt,Fressin Castle,Dennylys Park for families, Sunday brocantes in local villages (Hesdin and Fruges for shopping)to name a few. Montreuil is 30 mins away so is St Omer, Arras 1 hour.
A sat nav or detailed map is certainly a necessity in this area.
A site definitely to return to!
