Fantastic location sheltered by trees in the inner field (there is an outer field too) quiet and secluded.
Facilities could do with some maintenance/upgrading but for £23/night we were happy to use our own.
Great walk with the dogs in to the village and the local pub where the landlord/landlady were really friendly. They only server pizza on a Friday night but we missed that.
All in all a great little site to get away for a weekend and we will definitely be back

This was our second time camping here. The positives are that it's a relaxed and friendly little place but was certainly big enough that you're not pitched on top of each other but then it was April maybe high season is different. It's also quiet and surrounded by trees.
Disappointingly there is only one toilet and one shower and for a plot that can certainly accommodate quite a few tents and vans I suspect it could get a little demanding. That said we have been twice and would certainly go again.
I HAD to rate 'child friendliness' but have nothing to compare that too as we didn't have any and there were no children there on both our visits.

We spent a very enjoyable 4 nights stay. The site is secluded, sheltered and flat. The toilet is basic as with the shower. However the site was clean and tidy. The owners were very helpful and gave good advice on the local attractions.
A 10 minute walk into Little Granston gets you to the Chequers pub. It brews it own beer, which was very nice and has an excellent sheltered garden. We would recommend highly this site.

We stayed for two nights testing out our new tent. We wanted a site within an hour from home and, as Club members, thought a CS would be fun - and would get some use out of our membership!
The site is termed a 'Hideaway' site and it is quite peaceful without being miles from civilisation (namely there's a pub and village shop within a 10 minute walk). Perfect.
There are two fields: an inner field surrounded by trees with a small copse of trees in the centre, and an outer field which you go through to reach this. The inner field is quieter, as it's further from the road, but doesn't receive as much sun. It's also further to walk to the loo if you don't have your own facilities.
We stayed in the larger outer field, which is fairly level and surrounded by trees and shrubs, but with a few gentle ups and downs. There is also a communal fire pit in the centre - you can buy firewood from the owners if you fancy it. As it's more open, you do get more morning and evening sun (if it shines!).
There is one shower (50p a go)and still only one loo with a basin (hot water tho'). As mentioned before, this can lead to a wait at busy times and the campsite was less than half-full when we were there.
Do take a torch as the path to the loo is dark despite the security light.
There's a chemical disposal point tucked away in the trees, but there aren't any washing-up facilities - which I think the C&CC guide said there was. Just a standpipe tap and a drain (Even small municipals in France provide a tap and sink for dish-washing and that was at £6 a night for two, a tent and EHU. )
The owner and her son are welcoming and happy to advise on the local area, which included two pubs. One (the Crown and Cushion) is within a short walk (remember that torch again as it's a walk along an unlit and unpaved road) serving Indonesian food as well as good beer, and a pleasant but longer walk to The Chequers, with the Son of Sid micro-brewery.
Both Little and Great Gransden are charming villages, with thatched cottages and pretty gardens. St Ives and Cambridge are near-by, making it a good base to explore this part of the country for a few days or longer.
No children's play area but, that wasn't a concern for us nor for the children there who entertained themselves.
There was a bit of road noise at times but hardly at M25 levels, just awareness due to the quietness I guess. The most noise came from the crows and a frog jumping on the tent at 5. 00am.
I've given the scores based on my expectations and the size of the site.

Lovely Friendly Site.
Owner took the time to explain all facilities to us. 1 Toilet, 1 Shower 50p for ten minutes so plenty long enough for 2.
£9.00 per night for 2 adults and tent with no hook up.
Easy to find a nice level spot for the tent as there are no marked pitches so it is a go where you like site.
There are some lovely walks in the area so I would advise getting a map (Explorer 208).
2 pubs at the time we stayed within about 1/2 hour walk. The closest Crown & Cushion could well be closing down in the very near future. The Chequers in Little Gransden has a micro brewery and is well used by the locals. At the time of our visit neither pub done food.
We well may return to have a try at Gliding. Cambridge Gliding Club is just up the road and they have 'Try it out' sessions.

There are no pitches marked out we were told pitch tent and pay later. Owners very friendly we had our freezer blocks in their own freezer, only one shower and loo but site was quiet when we went so that was no bother. 50p for a nice hot shower. Village very pretty took our bikes to find the shop which had most of what you wanted. There is a out door pool but a bit to cold for us. If you want a basic site very laid back go here, loads to do in the area owners will help you to find places and lend you information. Will go back.

We have just come back from 3 nights here and are already moving stuff in our diaries to work out when we can go back.
The swimming pool was open but cold. This did not stop the children playing in it twice a day.
The trees in the middle of the field were perfect for our son to climb and the little wood at the back of the site a wonderful place for the children to create a den!
The loo and shower were spotless and over the whole of the weekend, I only had to queue once.
The owners were very friendly without being in your face.
We can't wait to go back!

We stayed there this year in a tent, there are 2 fields to choose from (all grass) no hard standing, there are plenty of electric hook ups also. Its a nice quiet area and the village has a small local shop that stocks just about everything you need daily, ST Neots town centre is about 7 miles away for anything else you need ! the site has 1 shower at 50p a go with plenty of hot water that lasts good enough for 2 people, there is only 1 toilet that lets it down a bit as there can be a wait if bussy and not pleasent at times when someones just been before you !. The site has there own private unheated swimming pool that is opened twice a day for campers at a small charge, our kids loved being there and we will be visiting again during the warmer months for sure, the owners are very nice and friendly and there are lots of things to do and going on in the area, all round worth the visit,im sure people will enjoy the stay while there.
