 This is a beautiful site by a charming lake in a stunning Bastide village with it's own English chateau from Angevin times where Richard the Lionheart spent some time between crusading. The architecture is pure medieval although there is a local Cafe bar De Paris, just 3 minutes from the campsite, serving modestly priced meals and drinks whilst a more upmarket Auberge is just across the street. There is a market in Cazals main square once a week. The campsite itself is extremely well appointed with clean toilets and showers in addition to a lakeside cafe. Swimming in the lake is very safe for adults and toddlers alike. The pitches are all on the level with all services provided. The surrounding countryside towards Domme is a wooded treasure with walnut forests in abundance. There is good access to Cazals from Gourdon to the north, Cahors to the south and Domme and Bergerac to the west.
This entire area, on the Lot / Dordoigne border, is totally unspoilt with all the charm one expects of south west France, ensuring our early return.
