We love this place very chilled out, few rules or facilities to be true.

New showers great but could do with a fridge freezer.

Pub and seafood restaurant on the doorstep but book a table.

Cafe and shop too.

Not much for kids.

The village is a lovely village and the setting is peaceful. In 2023 it is £35 a night with hook up.

The new toilets are very good indeed but tourers are shoved away up the back of the site and don't really have a view.

Down one side of the side resembles a junk yard.

Fine if you're paying £20 a night but not at all good at £35. Been to better sites for much less. The price and lack of view would put me off returning.

Be aware that the tourer (tent/mobile) field is a fairly large, open (no shelter) area at the top of the park and has no view over the loch. There's hard standing, and there's grass for tents.

The facilities are adequate, but rather run down. There is a newish block of 4 showers+toilets (you get both in the same room), which never felt particularly clean. There's an older block which was worse.

The main redeeming feature of this site is the stunning scenery of the area around, and evening walks through the village of Tayvallich.

I wouldn't go back to this site out of choice, though if I really had to stay in the area again, it's passable - but I'd definitely avoid busy times.

I feel this could be a good site, with proper investment. Considering the amount of money coming in through the campsite (it's not cheap - £20 a night for 1 person in a tent if I recall) I am sure they could afford to spend some money on the camping area. Like, a proper facilities block, and some landscaping (trees etc).

Nice enough spot overall. Front of site with views over the water is all statics. Campsite is at the back. Ok but not especially scenic and adjacent to a couple of metal workshops and boat storage area.

Toilet block was small but good. One spacious shower in the gents. £1 coin to use for an electric power shower. Reasonable time. Facilities were clean despite a couple of rainy days.

Microlodges had not been cleaned between users (perhaps not even cleaned for sometime!). The first one I looked at had dog hairs on the mattresses with crumbs and debris underneath. Mattresses in the one I stayed in were better.

However, I had to sweep up dog hairs, fluff and other debris from the floor and flat surfaces. Had to use my stash of wet wipes to clean the floor, toaster, kettle and microwave. Gave everything else a wipe down whilst I was at it.

Not acceptable at the best of times but during Covid completely out of order. Stayed in a lot of pods/lodges/ etc around the country. This was the dirtiest I've come across. Was tempted to go elsewhere but knew I'd be struggling to get somewhere on a Friday night and it was piddling it down.

Site is great for dog lovers and they're basically allowed to run free, as was the owner's dog. If you're not a dog lover, you'll have to accept dogs sniffing around you when you're sat outside having a meal or a large greyhound charging past you at 7am as you are shuffling to the toilet block.

Two excitable Labradors from a nearby motorhome paid absolutely no attention to their owner who nevertheless persisted in pleading with "Django" and "Otis" to come here and behave. You will also need to tread carefully. I realised there was dog mess near my picnic table which is not something I appreciate when eating.

I was charged £45 a night for the microldoge. I was pretty sure the website listed the nightly fee at £40 but couldn't check as no phone signal (on 3) and the public wifi not good enough to load most pages. I've asked for a refund.

Cash only or bank transfer as payment. This is not made clear on the website or when booking by email as I did. Would have been helpful to know beforehand.

No signs for a reception or check in instructions when arriving. Owner did come out fairly quickly though but didn't seem to be aware that I had a booking or what deposit I'd paid.

I'm afraid this is not a campsite I would stay at again in either a pod, my tent or my campervan. Could be a lot better but maybe owners are getting to the age when further investment would not be viable.

Lovely site in a lovely part of Scotland, the owners were very friendly,

The pitch sites were initially a bit vague, but that was soon sorted out.

There is a restaurant, pub and small shop close by. Great for boating people.

I would recommend this campsite.

We loved the tranquility of this site. The area and the village are beautiful. The owner was friendly and helpful.

The facilities were clean but two toilets and one shower (ladies side) is not really enough. We would return again but I do think they need more showers and toilets.

There is a brilliant pub just at the site entrance but you need to book. Food was excellent.

Was a little apprehensive after reading some of the reviews, but we were very pleased with this site.

Owner Rory was very welcoming and offered local knowledge. Yes it’s an open field but free to choose wherever you pitch. The toilets and showers were very clean. It would have been lovely to have the view of the beautiful bay from our pitch but you don’t have to walk far to see it.

The Tayvallich inn is excellent, well behaved dogs welcome too which was a bonus. We thoroughly enjoyed 2 lunches there. We were very lucky with the weather which made the scenery even more beautiful. Good walks for the dog nearby.

We turned up on a wet and windy afternoon, drove up passed rows of static caravans, and found a unexciting wet, open field with little character. The owner arrived and asked for £16 a night for 2 adults and a tent.

To be honest, we sat for an hour debating if we would stay at all. The forecast was wild and at least the site is sheltered enough so when the showers abated, we pitched by the track side.

Wash block is adequate. The showers cost another £1.

The Tayvallich Inn, situated at the entrance, is a fantastic local and the food is amazing and very good value. The views around the harbour are beautiful and there is a small local shop. Nearby you will find nature trails through historic oak woodland and a beach.

The chapel at Keills is full of Celtic stone work. We could have spent a whole week exploring. Whilst here, must see places are the Crinan Canal and the Kilmartin Cairns and standing stones.

With a bit of investment, this site could be a lot better.

Had a lovely two night stay here, clean facilities, £1 for a hot shower, basic but all we needed.

There is a lovely pub at the entrance to the site with real ale and a good mostly seafood based menu.

Also a nature reserve within walking distance where we enjoyed a full days walking, there was also an art trail and kids trail.
