Had a fantastic break here, quiet, friendly and more of an adults only site but dog friendly, every thing you need is only 5 minutes to a lovely village.
There bare essentials are on site i. E showers, toilets and electric but all clean and well looked after. Its next to a road but it is a very peaceful site and a very easy going atmosphere, while we stayed you could see the site was being improved and well kept.
The lady owner was always available for help and advice (Thanks Judy, from Simon and Jill) Our overall stay was perfect we would definitely recommend and will be visiting again very soon.

Basic yes, but everything you need for a simple getaway with electric hook up and plenty of pitch space. Five mins walk to village with three food pubs 😊

Very disappointed with this site. At the time of my visit the hard standings were full and tents on the tent field. This was the first time I have used this site and to be honest I will not be using it again.
The toilets were very dirty with ill fitting doors and the shower room was the same. At the top of the steps to the toilets on the gents side a flag stone was missing creating a health and safety hazard.
Next to the drinking water tap was an open skip where all campsite rubbish was disposed of. The road outside the site was just like a race track at times and very busy.
Noise on the site from campers went on until two in the morning with music and shouting. Not a happy place.

Been to this camp site four times now. Depending on what your camping requirements are this is a ideal site for those just wanting to pitch up, chill out and enjoy the 'CL'.
Idyllic for people going to Blackpool/surrounding areas who want to stay just outside for a reasonable price.
The campsite itself is very basic there are 2 toilets (1 male, 1 female) and 1 shower cubicle. The shower is in working order and is ok (main thing is it is hot). Some new slip mats wouldn't go a miss and a lick of paint in all three rooms, but as I say it is plain & simple basic, oh and I mustn't forget to mention to take your toilet roll with you at all times - as there is non supplied.Don't forget to take back with you as it would get used.
Depending on whether they have cordoned areas off for the Shetland ponies (of which are lovely and are friendly by the way)the owners are fairly reasonable at where you pitch your tent.
Huge field would accommodate a lot of tents and also area for tourers probably 12+. About a 5-10 min walk into little village which is nice all in all not a bad campsite, but just bare in mind there is nothing to do and it is basic, obviously wouldn't suit everyone. We will definitely be going again.

A group of 4 of us just returned from a 2 night stay at Part Raikes, using it as a base to get us to the Pleasure Beach at Blackpool (about 15 miles away).
Calling it a campsite is probably a little far fetched - field with space for a few caravans and tents is more apt. We pitched our two tents in the field a little further on than the caravans, but were warned not to go in too far due to it being very boggy.
Facilities are very basic and not too nice to be honest. They are clean, but could do with an update, and a bit of maintenance ie. getting rid of the water on the floors in the toilets, or putting some plastic matting down instead. Shower was hot, but we did use it at 06:30 so not sure how long it would last if there were a lot of people about.
Felt pretty much in the middle of nowhere, and at £5 per person per night, a bit expensive. £5 per tent would have been much fairer.
The working farm next door gave the site a very country like smell, and the road was very noisy. Probably not a great site for kids.
All in all, if you are looking for a simple field to pitch your tent then it's fine, but there are much nicer sites about, with much better facilities, often for a cheaper price.

This is the ONLY site in the area that will accept tents. The grass was mown for the bank holiday but as the owners will accept tents on a 'just turn-up, no need to book' basis they could not possibly be expected to have all the field mowed. It was exceptionally good weather and everyone decided to go away.
We have stayed here on numerous occasions and always found this to be a good site. There are 10 caravan pitches with plenty of room for manoeuvring.
It is a working farm site. The owners are a hard working couple and will do practically any thing they can to make peoples' stay a good one. If any one has complaints all they have to do is mention it to the owners and they will do all in their power to rectify it.
We have always found the toilet/shower facilities to be clean with plenty of hot water. The water may not have been very hot over the bank holiday due to high usage. Toilet rolls/soap are not supplied which is fairly common on most sites. The toilets have been designed with access for the disabled in mind.
The local village can be walked to in 15 minutes. There are a number of good shops including a home bakery, butcher, chemist, health centre etc. The health centre is willing to accept, if need be, patients on a temporary basis.

We have just been to this site over the bank holiday weekend, it was the only site we found ringing a week in advance with space however there was little or no information on the internet.
Driving down Garstang rd you are aware you have arrived at the site by a crudely hand painted sign by the roadside, driving into the site you are in the middle of the small caravan area 10 hard gravel pitches close to each other and not masses of room for manoeuvring.
After booking in we drove onto the very bumpy, much in need of mowing, (easily a foot high in the good areas) field. The site for tents was quite large but would have benefited so much by being mowed the grass was ridiculously long, especially on the bank holiday weekend, you'd have thought they would have been prepared.
We ventured to the toilets, (right near the booking in cottage at the beginning of the site). These left much to be desired. One toilet for men one for women and one shower for the whole site, caravans and tents. There was no toilet roll or soap supplied. Cold hard concrete rooms, poorly fitted facilities, the taps didn't even reach into the sink properly and sprayed water everywhere. The whole toilet/ shower area could have done with a clean. The shower was a concrete room with a drain and a shower head in it, no cubicle. The water wasn't warm when I braved the showers. The washing up sink at the end of the toilet/shower block didn't have hot water so involved carrying water from the toilets (if they were free) to the sink.
The road right outside the site was used as a race track for the most part of the night. The shops that were apparently a short walk from the site were a five, ten minute drive. The play area which was apparently right across the road was nowhere to be found. All I all not a great experience!
