 A friendly site in rural Drenthe, where few British campers seem to venture. Sited on the outskirts of Havelte, a village with an excellent supermarket and plenty of walks and cycle routes in the area.
Gender neutral toilet block is immaculate with free hot showers included in the overnight fee along with 10A power.
Helpful owners speak excellent English. I would highly recommend this site. Probably best to pitch well away from the adjacent main road though. WE did not find it intrusive.

This was our first camping trip to Holland-we usually go to France, but living in Newcastle, we were fed up with travelling to ferry/Eurostar ports in the south.
Ferry journey from North Shields to IJmeuden-simples, followed by 1 1/2 hour drive to this lovely campsite.
Facilities, very clean, tokens required for shower, pitches very well kept and owners perfectly polite and helpful. The Dutch people we met were amazingly friendly and most of them spoke very good English, which I found quite embarrassing as we knew no Dutch and it's very difficult to get your tongue round!
We came here to cycle, and cycle we did. So very safe compared to England and indeed France. Lots of pretty villages and some lovely café/ bars very close to campsite. We parked the car on arrival and didn't really use it again!
The only downside is the traffic noise from the road, which is quite busy, especially on weekday mornings. However, if you were staying in a caravan or mobile home, this may not be so noticeable. Having said this, it only detracted marginally from a brilliant stay!
