This is supposed to be a Caravan Club site, but they advertise it for tents and other units too, which is against CC policy, apparently. The pitch was tiny- I mean really tiny. The pub was unfriendly and seemed to fall silent whenever we walked in! There are no showers or pot washing facilities and the one toilet probably hadn't been cleaned for weeks. My four year old wouldn't go into the toilet, so when the pub was closed, she had to wee in a field!
Some caravanners were already there when we started pitching, and the lady came out and started giving us abuse because tents shouldn't be there, even though we had pre booked and did explain that to her. She then proceeded to moan about the kids (hey if children can't play on a camp site during the day, when can they play) and the dogs (not barking and securely tethered, so I don't know what the problem was.)the lady then complained to the pub landlord and theatenend to report him to the Caravan Club, to which his reply was 'I'm not bothered, I'm closing the caravan site next year anyway'.
On the bright side, there are some nice dog walks nearby, and it's a short drive from Wycoller, which is nice. The area is nice if you like walking

We have visited this site many times over the past three years for weekend breaks. The location is excellent - lovely countryside with Pendle Hill as a backdrop. The 5-pitch Caravan Club CL site is located at the rear of the car park and all pitches have electricty. There is a small toilet amenity at the rear of the pub - basic but clean. Owners of the pub are very helpful and friendly. Good home cooked food is produced daily. Also good range of beers! Plenty to do and see within a short distance - especially the Witches Trail (this is Pendle Witch country so beware). Unfortunately the pub is undergoing extensive refurbishment at the moment and there is a possibilty that the caravan site may be lost forever. Ring first to check.

Well what a find. My sat nav took me to the door of this 1700 pub, the car park is big and you can navigate easily to the 5 pitches at the rear.
As long as every one spaces right there is no problems on here, the ground is all over the place though so be prepared to be almost on silts on one side or the other.
Views are fantastic the sun rise and sun set is something to behold.
The pub is warm and cosy with a lot of outside seating, and serves food everyday ( I didnt eat there however)
There is a toilet for the camp site but this is a little shabby with a toilet and hand basin with cold water only, you couldnt wash in there anyway due to the as good as see through windows either side of you.
The waste disposal was to lift an alumininm plate on the gound and empty in to an open drain.(not nice).
I believe the place will be closed for 4 months in Jan due to building works and this is going to cut down the 5 pitches to how many they do not know.
Friendly owl made sure I was up 3-4 times in the night but no noise at closing time .
Recommended but ensure you have your own loo and shower.

I liked this little site it was on top of a hill with great views of the countryside. Ideal for a get away weekend, nothing much to do, except walk and maybe have a pint or two. I didnt go into the pub because I had dogs with me in my caravan, but ideal for dog walking and relaxing with a good book. There are shops a short drive away if you forget anything. I would go back its a cheap weekend away from it all.
