This site was really good value at eleven euros per night for our tent (two people, one car) and was a pleasant place to stay too. The site used to be a nursery I think and is full of mature trees - which are nice but do make it on the shady side, and quite dark at night too. The pitches could be more private with more substantial hedges in between, and are on something of a slope. However there were mostly mobile homes and static chalets so it wasn't too busy. Most other people staying seemed to be there just for a night or two but we found plenty to do to fill our four days there. The loos are clean but quite dated - the showers in particular vary wildly in temperature and pressure! There is just one block for both genders which I guess is good for families. There is good free wifi in and around a barn on site which seemed to be set as aide for guests to use, with board games, ice cream, drinks and food available.
You would probably need a car or bike to stay here for any length of time as there's not much of anything in Carlepont. There is a supermarket on the way to Compiegne - on a huge retail park in fact - and Compiegne itself has a lovely feel to it. The imperial palace is worthy of a visit - you can walk around the grounds for free. Amiens is a nice city too, although quite a drive - and the son et lumiere isn't worth it on it's own, in our opinion! Other than that there's lots of interesting world war history around here - such as a walking trail around the village of Tracy-le-Mont and the clearing in the forest of Compeigne where the WWI armistice was signed.

Stayed here for two nights. On arrival check-in was good with a mix of French and English getting us through.
We were given a choice of pitches as the sight was very quiet, so got a nice grassy spot. A lot of the pitches had turned to dust I suppose after a busy summer. As the site is set in trees, there is a fair bit of shade from the sunshine. Facilities were a little dated, but were kept clean.
The area has a lot of WW1 / WW2 sites of interest nearby and in reception we found a leaflet that showed walking/driving trails that proved to be very interesting, the walking trail at Tracy-La-Mont was one of these. It’s also not far to get to museum of the armistice.
There was a bakery in the village that is a bit of a walk, but it’s on the road if you’re passing in the van/car.
Wouldn’t have a problem using this site if we were in the area again.

Les Araucarias is french for the 'monkey puzzle tree.' When we spoke to the owner (who speaks good English) he said that the site used to be a 'tree nursery.'
This campsite is basically in a forest. You are surrounded by trees, which keeps the wind out, but also hides some of the daily sun, mostly in the mornings.
The site was very secure needing a passcode to enter and exit via a barrier, and the owners live on-site should an emergency occur.
On site there is a nice clean shower/toilet block, with ample facilities for campers as a lot of the pitches were taken up by static caravans and chalets which would have their own facilities.
We were not on EHU and they froze our blocks free of charge.
There is a small cafe/bar with a few groceries and fresh bread can be ordered daily.
Washing machine and veg prep area was adequate.
Pitches were a good size, however we chose this spot as it provided shade and sun. It was a bit of a squeeze with a Wynnster orion 7 (which is a very large tent) but there were bigger pitches available.
There was a children's play area with an outdoor table tennis table. There is a variety of board games available should the need arise.
There is no swimming pool but that was not an issue for us.
At night it is quite dark on the site. There are lights but they are nice and subtle and noise is kept to a minimum.
It's nice to be outside at 10 o'clock, sat at the table with a glass of wine, and watch the bats flying around.
The small town of carlepont was a ten minute walk away for daily essentials, and the large town (city) of Noyon was a 15 minute drive with a wide variety of supermarkets and shops. Make sure you see the cathedral.
Noyon has a street market twice a week and there are other markets in the area.
There is also a canal close to Noyon which allows for plenty of walking.
This campsite is very family and pet friendly and very reasonably priced.
Most of the other campers we met were French who were on their holidays.
