Beautifully kept site at the foot of the Medieval castle.
Grass cut and lifted, large pitches, pretty little trees separating lines of pitches. Very slightly sloping.
Toilet facilities unisex, three lavatories, two showers, one a large disabled facility and one quite big alternative. Washing up area under cover, two large clothes washing sinks with drying lines. Machine available on request. Very clean but water wasn't very hot unfortunately.
Play area very close and pleasant short stroll to the river. When we arrived it was completely empty but three more couples turned up by the evening. I imagine it gets much busier during July and August.
Some road noise during the day but very quiet at night. It is managed from the Leisure centre round the back and you go there to pay. We paid just over €92 for 6 nights including electric.
Super you a very short drive with 24hr fuel.
Town short stroll from site.
Entrance on right directly opposite the Auberge, a big building covered with foliage.
Very pleasant staff.
We found lots to do in the surrounding area as very central to both sides of the peninsula.
Highly recommend.

This municipal site seems to be passed by most UK tourists. More fool them! It's set in the shadow of a lovely 14th century castle fortress as a backdrop to the site and is only a stones throw away from the town's shopping area. A very helpful tourist information point is also within the castle which is well stocked with local literature and speak good English thankfully. The site itself has marked open plan pitches managed by a very helpful warden and his wife who keep the place immaculate. Toilet/shower cubicles are spotless and there is a cheap washer/dryer available too! In low season this site is very peaceful but can become VERY busy/noisy during French holiday periods. If you are overnighting from the Normandy ferries this is the ideal site being only about an hour from the port. The only issue we had was that after a spell of prolonged wet weather in late May the site was very soft towards it's lower end. However, local arrangements are in hand to tow units off with the town's tractors. Still, after a few dry days this problem disappeared. Overall a great site with good cellular reception and mostly clear sky satellite aspects
