We stayed here for a couple of nights and had a great time.
The site is a couple of big fields, there are no pitches, you just put yourself wherever you want, because we have our own facilities in our motorhome we parked in the lower field, furthest away from the facilities at the farmhouse and had the field to ourselves!
There was a ladies and gents toilet and washing area (cold water only) in a smart wooden building in the other field, we didn't see or use the farmhouse facilities.
The owners have a relaxed attitude to dogs, so we were able to let them off the lead and throw balls for them on site, which was great. We did have to pay an extra £6 a night for the dogs (£2 per dog), which bumped up the price we paid for pitch with no electric to £18 a night (there are no electric hook ups at all on site).
Although it was the summer holiday the site was not too crowded, from what we saw when we went out the sites closer to the coast are absolutely packed like sardines, so we are glad we chose this site just a little bit inland.
We have a motorbike and used that to sightsee in the area, the roads are narrow and I think that driving a motorhome around St. Davids would be a nightmare, the roads are really busy and narrow in places. Also the surrounding lanes are also narrow and quite busy, so I think it's best to leave motorhomes on site and use alternative ways to get around.
The area is beautiful, we will definitely return out of main holiday season when it will all be quieter, and we'd definitely be happy to stay on this site again.

When we arrived at the site, the owners were friendly and showed us the facilities, there was a womens and mens bathroom with 1 toilet and shower in each. The facilities were a little old-looking so did not look the cleanest, but the main thing is that the shower was hot and did not have to wait (used it in the afternoon). These were a few minutes walk away from the 2 camping fields down the lane. In 1 of the fields, where it joined the 2nd field, there was also a washing up basin with cold water and a female and male toilet, which was quicker to get to. They were clean. The fields were really big and so there was plenty of room for children to play. There was also a water tap and chemical disposal point in the field. It was just a 10 minute walk into St. David's, down one lane, and there was a lovely view of the church and town from the campsite. The beach at Whitesands was only about 2 miles away and we had a great time there. You could walk to the beach too if you really wanted, but if not, there is parking and when it's really busy, as it was when we went, there is parking a 10 minute walk away from the beach which is the same price. The campsite was really peaceful.

We found the details for this site on UKCampsite.co.uk and we weren't disappointed. There are two fields, one for caravans etc and one for tents. The fields were lovely, flat at the top, and slightly slopping towards the bottom.
There are 2 toilets, 1 for men and 1 for women and a washing up facility in the camping field. These were very spacious and clean, handwash and toilet paper provided in the toilets. In the washing up area there was washing up liquid and sponges. There is only cold water in these facilities, this was not a problem.
Up at the farm there are 2 showers, 1 for men and 1 for women, these were lovely, clean, spacious and hot water aplenty. There is also a freezer for your ice packs which is an added bonus which many other sites would do well to adopt. There were 4 of us, my hubby, me and 2 kids. The price was excellent £9 per night for us.
St Davids is a beautiful little Cathedral City, with plenty of pubs and plenty of places to eat. There is a supermarket off the main road which served us brilliantly while we stayed here.
There are lots of beaches, some you can walk to, although may be a little awkward if you have very young children. My favourite was Whitesands. It is a beautiful clean beach and has a shop and cafe there too. Plenty of lifeguards in the summer months, and brilliant waves for surfing.
We stayed for 6 nights, and if we had not had to come home for work we would have gladly stayed longer.

Excellent value site (£9 per night for tent, 2 people and a dog) with friendly hosts. The site was not over crowded even in August and there was lots of space for children to play. There are 2 toilets (male and female) with wash basins and a washing up area in the camping field. Note: only cold water in these facilities. At the farm house there are 2 free hot showers, toilets and basins. This is a 3 minute walk from the camping fields along a track but we did not find this an issue at all. All facilities were cleaned every day. Free ice block freezing. All in all excellent value for money at a time when some camping sites are charging higher rates as it becomes more and more popular to camp.
The location of the campsite is excellent, slightly inland which is an advantage over other sites we saw which are exposed to the headland winds. 15 mins walk to Portclais Harbour where you can launch canoes and boats, do some crabbing or go for a paddle. St David's Cathedral is the same distance in the other direction - a beautiful place well worth visiting before 10 am when it gets busy with day trippers. 25 mins walk to Caerfai Beach which is dog friendly. Whitesand Bay is lovely but there is a dog ban in the summer. We hardly used the car as we walked everywhere and used the excellent local coastal bus service which is really flexible with friendly drivers. For example one day we took a leisurely walk to Solva and got the bus back to St David's in the afternoon. Our dog loved it, he slept for 2 days on our return home he was so tired!
Eating out is quite expensive as the restaurants in the area are good quality. We ate out in Porthgain at The Shed Bistro which is 20 mins drive along the north coast of the peninsula, the meal was excellent local fresh fish and seafood cooked perfectly. Well worth the money. We had fish and chips from St David's one night which were also nice, there is CKs supermarket in the town which opens late in the summer and stocks everything you may need.
