Excellent campsite location for Silverstone Club Corner.
Good availability of toilets and showers, which were clean and functional.
I would recommend using different wrist tags as they kept getting tighter throughout the stay and eventually had to be cut off and replaced.
I would also like to see more Wifi availability as there was such a poor phone signal at the campsite and circuit.

Stayed here for the British GP in 2010. Unlike the previous reviewer we were told that there were upwards of 2000 people staying that weekend at the campsite. Facilities were good with entertainment provided. We stayed for one evening meal which was not bad. Beware of the stage by the buffet bar in the restaurant though because whilst we were there 3 people tripped up over it knocking their food all over the floor. Water availability was an issue from day 1 (Friday). If you were not in the shower before 8. 00 am forget it because there was no water at all including in the toilets and showers and a large bucket was placed in the public toilets with water in to wash your hands. We found it pretty noisy and the ear plugs bought for the F1 came in very useful for a peaceful nights sleep past 2. 00 am.
Positives were though that it was really close to the circuit around 200 yrds to the entry gate and it took us around 10 mins to walk from the tent to our seats at Vale/Club so bear that in mind if you book.
All in all it was a great sense of occasion with plenty of British Hamilton/Button supporters as demonstrated by the many flags decorating the camp site and although there was a water issue there was usually someone on hand to speak to. One gripe though was that on Day one when there was no water the sprinkler was watering the green which was a bit of a kick in the teeth given we hadnt been able to wash.
Couldnt fault the weather for the weekend though!

Management response: The Water issue was fixed in 2011 by the local water authority, this problem was not just on our campsite. We had intensive water pipes & pumping station alterations carried out in the area, there has been no water problems since.
We have a family camping area now for quieter camping general camping.
With regards to watering the greens on the Golf Course, the water in our sprinkler system is pumped from ponds on the Golf Course. |

You are looking at this site because you need some where to stay for the Moto GP or other event. This is not a camp site, this is a golf club that sees an opportunity to make money.
The area used is the driving range so its flat, pegs go in easy. No hot water for washing up, no EHU. The cold water supplied is not drinkable, so has to be boiled.
The water pressure to the 5 portable showers is very low and the heat varies from cold to warm. There are about 15 portable toilets with the chemical flush. They get cleaned once a day. By Sunday [race day] the showers had packed in. Organisers told me there were 400 of us on site and for F1 in 2009, 1200 people. Facilities struggle to cope.
You can get food and drinks at the club house but they struggle with demand. Having said all that it is close to Silverstone, approx 200yards from gate 15.
Would we use it again? Yes because the alternative sites are worse and we love Moto GP so for three days you put up with it. There is a large field for the kids to run around in. Tents are packed in side by side and its quiet noisy. So to be honest its better than most in the area but not good but its only 200 yards from the track. So you pays your money and makes your choice.

Management response: Substantial improvements have been made since 2010 - we have drinkable water on the campsite, a newly built bar area & newly built toilets & showers.

Arrived on thursday before grand prix. Pitching is on golf practise ground. All tents pitched on outer edge of field due to middle being flooded. Golf buggys where used to help with equipment etc to get to pitches. Dave who organised camping and his helpers could not have been more helpful. Cars where parked other side of field within sight though. clubhouse had food available.,at reasonable rates.not much choice though. But remember this is only for f1 weekend so plenty to eat a silverstone. Shower block and toilets at clubhouse.1 minute walk. extra bar and toilets behind clubhouse but did not go so cant comment. Silverstone entrance approx 200 metres from site. But depending where you are going can be a very long walk. Booking in advance only. No electic hook ups.
