When you turn into the driveway, you will understand why the site is so named!
This site typifies what a CL should be all about – laid back and with basic facilities but with superb views.
Although the site doesn’t have any hardstandings, the grass field was fine for our motorhome even though we had one full day of torrential rain. No problems in getting off the site the following day.
The electric hook-ups are well spaced along the fence line, so that you weren’t on top of your neighbours at all. The fact that there was a free Wi-Fi connection, was a bonus.
The adjacent Stiperstones ridge walk, with the Devils Chair, is very close by as well and there are lots of other circular walks in the area. You are also very close to the Welsh border at White Grit. The Bog information centre has lots of local books & crafts as well as a superb tea rooms. The volunteer staff are all very well informed and happy to pass on advice etc.
The village shop in Stiperstone, about a mile, downhill, from the site [next to the pub] is a veritable “Aladdin’s Cave” and is open every day [so we were told!].
The friendly owners have rare breed pigs and most are housed in the adjacent woodlands. All manner of pork products are also available.
We thoroughly recommend this site as an alternative area to Church Stretton & the Long Mynd.

A very nice quiet CL situated on the edge of the South Shropshire Hills. If you into walking this is an excellent base. This site is in a very rural location but well worth the journey off the beaten track. The area itself is unique, old lead mine ruins, wonderful scenery and a local village shop that is an experience in itself. Visit the Bog Centre (I kid not) for homemade cakes like your mother used to make.

What a beautiful part of the country! Beware though road to site is steep with hairpin bends but with room for other traffic. Approach only from Stiperstones village to get easy entrance to site. Owners very friendly and their eggs are great. Now the down side, if like me you like a visit to the pub, the nearest is a drive away down the hill in Stiperstones village. There are no toilet facilities. Apart from these two minor downers it's a wonderful place to stay and the views are out of this world.

Lovely quiet site, with fantastic views across the valley and up to the Devil's Chair! (part of the Stiperstones National Park) Has electric hookups - handy for colder nights! Good size, marked pitches - may need chocks and rock pegs for an awning. Good for walking, local pub good and food excellent value - quaint shop, sells everything, interesting too! NT Long Mynd definitely worth a visit - scary roads Owners very helpful and welcoming. Sheep and lambs (just born when we were there) adjacent. Recommended!
