Stayed here for 1 night on way back from Spain. Easy access from main route so very convenient. Although advertised as open it looked closed as we pulled in. Finally got someone's attentiom. We were the only campers, which was the best part of the stay. The (lovely)camping field was largely flooded and we had to park on the gravel drive. There was no waste dump or water available on site and the facilities were very basic. Won't go back.

We stopped here for a couple of nights en-route back to the UK and it did the trick. It is not far from the motorway and access is good and the charming Dutch owners told as to pitch where we wanted to. Some of the pitches are not immediately obvious and the 'regulars' had bagged a few of the bigger pitches but we settled into a pleasant corner and then went into Pons for an evening meal.
From here we also did a little touring and in particular, La Rochelle which was still packed with tourists but had a real buzz and we enjoyed a great lunch in one of the many restaurants overlooking the harbour.
This campsite is good value for money with what looks like a fine restaurant and is far enough away from the roads to be really peaceful. There is a large outdoor swimming pool and the whole place has an air of being slightly unkempt but charming. Not sure we would would want to stay much longer but we will certainly remember this place next time we need an overnight.

A lovely friendly welcome from the Dutch owners/managers of this site when we arrived on spec one evening at 7pm. Easy to find from the main route from Congnac/Saintes. The site was pretty full but we were told to choose from any available pitch we could find. We got set up and being too tired to cook decided to take advantage of the on site restaurant which is on the site of an old watermill. We had a lovely meal and a couple of glasses of wine (30 euros for two for two courses with wine and coffee) sitting outside on the terrace at the edge of the mill pond and the owner even showed us where we could let our dog swim in the mill pond to cool down. This involved negotiating some overly friendly ponies, pigmy goats, ducks and hens who all wanted to follow us back to the bar terrace. We were instructed to 'not let the ponies bully us!'
We totally relaxed here, the atmosphere was so friendly. Mainly dutch campers, with a fair few british as well. Some seasonal looking pitches. The pool was closed due to refurbishment which was a shame. The facilities - showers, toilets, waste disposal etc - were a fair walk from the pitches which might get annoying on a longer stay. Spotlessly clean but could do with a revamp. Showers a bit mouldy but loads of hot water. The pitch area - all grass pitches- could have done with a grass cut and the whole site looked in need of a spruce up.
This site looked to be a very busy stopover site at the time we were there. The majority of campers moved off very early the next morning. Luckily we are early risers as the 7. 30 leavers weren't too quiet! The site is ACSI and so very cheap off season. The cheapest we had the whole trip at 12 euro for one night including hook up. Hubby met with the owner the following morning for his famous expresso before we left and we promised we'd be back next year. Not the best most manicured site we've ever been on but certainly the friendliest and most relaxing. And for that we would go back.

We stayed at this campsite for a week in late June, two adults and one child. Although the website is in Dutch it's easily translated, and the booking process and subsequent communication was easy, and very friendly.
On our (very late, and very tired arrival) we booked in, and were told to pick any pitch we liked. The site itself is very peaceful, with good facilities. The centre of the site houses a large duck pond which is completely safe for kids (it's all fenced off), and the swimming pool and toddlers pool likewise. There are a couple of trampolines that don't have safety nets but that was no problem, we just bounced with our daughter.
The pitches are a good size, and most have water taps and hook ups available. There are plenty of shaded pitches too - an absolute godsend with the temperatures we had. It's a Dutch run site and it's obviously extremely popular with Dutch & British campers of the caravan/motorhome persuasion - during our stay tents were in the minority!
The bathroom & toilet facilities were good - spacious, with room to wrangle a toddler. There are washer/dryer facilities too, with a 30 min wash costing EUR3 and a drying cycle the same (tokens from the bar/restaurant).
And on to the bar. From what I remember, it's lovely :)with a cool stone bar indoors and plenty of tables and space outside, it was obviously very popular both with campsite guests and other visitors. The restaurant also has good food and a wonderful atmosphere.
Our family who live in the area mentioned that they host quiz nights for the English speaking community once a week that are extremely popular. There are also animals dotted around that are obviously well cared for, and our daughter loved visiting them all - from the ducks on the pond to the two ponies and goats as well.
The surrounding area is beautiful - nearby Pons is a medieval town well worth exploring, and the area is around 45 mins from the coast at Royan, and slightly further to La Rochelle. We were staying to visit family and didn't do too much exploring, instead being more than happy to vegetate on site and swim at will.
The daily rate for a tent with no hook up was very inexpensive at less than EUR15 per night, much less than I had worked out from their website and a pleasant surprise. It's worth noting that this is not a highly polished, super-activity-filled French site.
Some may even call it a tad shabby, however we absolutely loved it and would choose it over a 'traditional' french site any day. The only thing I could think of to improve it would be a communal barbeque area, of which there wasn't an obvious one (although to be fair every time we intended to ask, we got distracted by the bar).
And finally - a word of thanks to the owners/wardens of the site. We felt incredibly welcome, and instantly relaxed. They obviously work very hard to run and maintain the site, and both they and the staff were never anything but friendly, always stopping to laugh and play with our daughter. In short, we'd go back like a shot and hope to be able to next Easter.
