We had our first camping trip of the year here, having been twice previously.
The price is very good and facilities adequate. There is a field with donkeys and chickens at the back, worth a walk around. There a two rope swings which kept the kids happy. Being able to have a campfire is also a big plus. The owners sell wood at a reasonable price. Also eggs and occasionally homemade lemon curd for sale.
The couple that run it are very helpful and pleasant.
We will be returning again.

Just got back from a 1 night stay at upper morgay wood. Had a good stay but a little disappointed in it's location its right next to a busy B road and the traffic noise can get very loud and constant.
Also though the campsite itself has some fields to walk in that's about it as it's surrounded by privet land your not allowed on, saying that the field with the donkeys is very large so for are one night it was fine but I normally like more places to walk.
That's the grumbles over with, the good parts are the price £5 an adult no fee for dogs. You pitch were you like, campfire are allowed (in provided barrel) and a bag of wood (sawdust compressed into the shape of wood) was £2.50, free use of campfire barrels and wire grills (though I would still use your own grill or take some cleaning products)
It's a small site with one toilet and shower per sex (both in the same room so if someone's in the shower your have to wait to use the loo) but I believe they don't over book the site so it shouldn't get too busy (maybe in the school holidays though), and the loos are kept clean. The washing up area is in a shed/cabin and is clean though there's only one sink, in there as well is info on the surrounding area's.
Also the owners are very nice and helpful. Overall a good cheap site

After a random decision to go camping for the night, me and my boyfriend decided on upper Morgay wood as we could have a campfire. And it was only hour drive away. The owners were very welcoming and we were allowed to pitch where we wanted. The fire pits are very good and the fire wood bags at £2. 50 were a bargain and lasted a night but would last longer if you don't have a raging fire like we did. The toilets/shower rooms are clean and away from the camp, but not too far that is was a mission, so no one gets stuck by the loo position. Remember to put fire pits on bricks as there is a sign saying this but if you don't go to the toilet first you won't see it.
The surrounding woodland/open fields are lovely for a walk and I am regretful we didn't take the dog as its a ideal place for dogs. The families that turned up were nice and no one bothered each other. The owners pets (chickens, donkeys and dog 'oddy') were good around the children and a good way to make you feel you are out in the country side. Easy to find, close to road and there were lots of things near by to do. Altho the toilet blocks were clean and well kept, when it's busy I can imagine there would be queues as there is only 1 male and 1 female cubicle. The washing up area is also good but again only 1 sink so could get busy. All in All a good site and we'd defo go back !

We have visited here quite a few times in the last few years and what a lovely place to go. You can pitch where you want. Have real fires. Fresh eggs are available along with some delicious home made lemon curd. Its a camp site where you can be left to your own devices. It has a washing up room and the men and women toilets/showers are situated so you don't have to walk miles to use them.
The chickens wander around freely and the owners are very nice and accommodating. There are donkeys in the field that you can stroll through, a rope swing where the kids play. Its a place where you can spend some real quality time with your family in lovely peaceful surroundings. We will definitely be going back this year a lovely place to relax

What a lovely find. Not exactly off the beaten track with the road running past the site but an absolute gem. Fires are the big draw for me and this site encourages them.
The shower block was fine despite previous reviews I've certainly known worse.
Love the animals roaming around and kids will too. Didn't try the local pub but found that a fire more than fills the entertainment gap, plenty to do in local area,
one special hint is to buy some freshly caught fish from Hastings fish shops and cook it over the fire, so fresh and tasty and all this for £10 a night per tent.

We stayed here for 3 nights in our new tent for a camping test drive! We located the place OK, very friendly owners and lots of room, if a little slope here and there.
We set up and had a great stay with sunshine all of the time. The site was not full and had plenty of room though I think the one M, one F shower/loos may struggle if chocca.
Nice to have fires too, and wood cheap at £2. 50/bag. Kids loved the swings and Odd the dog.
Fresh eggs daily from the roaming hens, lovely.
If you don't mind your camping a little basic, this is great value, £10/night per unit and very handy for 1066 / Battle Hastings etc.
Can heartily recommend the White Hart pub down the road - excellent grub and welcome!

Have stayed here a couple of times now and really like it, Its small (about 30 Acres) but has everything you need, clean toilets, showers and chickens!
The owners are really friendly they let you pitch were you want and supply logs for fires at a mere £2.50 (fire bins provided) eggs and anything else they are making at the time.
When staying here I have always been able to get on with pitching the tent and getting on with things whilst my kids get on with playing on the rope swings, meeting the Donkeys, chasing the chickens and making friends with any other kids that are camping and because of the size of the site I can still keep a good eye on them.
They charge £10 per car load (cheap) and my only niggle is that the site slopes in places and is near the road. But don't let this put you off from staying at this wonderful little campsite.

My family and I have just arrived home from a somewhat interesting stay at Upper Morgay Farm !
The site itself is a nice small very basic campsite which is reasonably priced for what you get.
The showers were not all that good considering you had to pay for them and a little on the grubby side.
The chickens seem to enjoy roaming in and out of your stuff all day which is interesting when they poo everywhere!
The firepits are fab and the logs are a bargain very good dry wood and the even put in a bit of kindling to get you started.
Overall we had a lovely weekend except for the arrival home of the ladies son late last night in a very drunk and abusive state and we eventually had to escort him back to his house to get rid of him.

Pitched up the last bank holiday Sept to arrive to a small site with very friendly chickens and a donkey which needs some cough medicine!
Lovely welcome, Pat is a very friendly friendly (owner) of the site.
We set up on Friday and started our open fire pit, which was brill.
Sedgcombe village nearby and an organic vineyard just 1 mile down the round, had a lovely afternoon trying out the wines!
Great little camp site, you get used to the road close by, but does quieten down quickly in the evening.
Nice little hills to wander, but watch out for the rabbit holes!
Great little forest you can wonder about in and collect your tinder to start your fire with.
Had a lovely time, would definitely go back when passing through Morgay Wood.
