Stopped here for 1 night to test out my new Vango Beta 350 and I was taking the kids to their grandparents (1/4m away).

There hasn't been much change in the facilities from the earlier posts - it is a site with very basic facilities, the showers and toilets are very dated and in poor condition (no locks, no lighting in some areas, window panes missing on the washing up area. The ladies looked slightly better but still not great. It was only £4 for the night for 1 adult (£6 if you want EHU) - so you get what you pay for.

The road is noisy and there is traffic along it all night. There is a controlled entrance which requires a fob to operate, which the farmer requires a £30 deposit. In some ways this didn't feel like a campsite and it seems more for people who work in the area, I would imagine there are a lot of seasonal workers in Blackpool and it was definitely missing that 'camping' feeling' - but perhaps I am being a little harsh as only there 1 night.

There are some plus points though - its very convenient for the Outside Inn (pub which does 2 meals for £10), B&Q and a Tesco Extra with a small retail park (Matalan, Next etc) and for the main routes into Blackpool.

However, I think I'll be looking elsewhere - even for a one nighter near to the grandparents.

Came here for a meet & greet with the Bedford van lot for the weekend we all had electric & we were allowed to put up a big gazebo for the gathering. The site was quiet after 9.30 we were probly the noisiest.
The road didn't bother us being in vans it's situated near to motorway & roundabouts, there are a lot of seasonal vans on,no shop on site but Tesco, Mattalan, etc just a short walk away, there was no playground for the kids although the kids there had no problem.
Ladies had no problem with toilets there was 4 working, take your own soap & paper.Only one shower which I didn't use so don't know how good it was.But all in all a good stop off point to Blackpool. The farmer met us & was very friendly when we first arrived having had trouble finding the place. Our fault though ignored our sat nav it has a dead end sign on the small road just off a roudabout, enjoyed our weekend away

Recently visited this site. Easy to find 5 mins from M55 and only 15 mins drive into Blackpool. There is also a bus stop outside of site.
Cheap pitch fees that was the good side of site.
The down sides are no shop, on site toilets are a disgrace - no locks on toilet doors, no soap or toilet paper. Shower takes 20p coins. There are a lot of seasonal vans on this site with owners who don't care about noise. There is a busy main road along 1 side. 1 site I will not visit again. This is a very basic site

This site is a working farm the owners pleasant & helpful I & my family are sited here ,we find it both friendly & peaceful. There are toilet blocks with shower in both ladies & gents, with hot & cold running water, which is adequate.
Although there are no shops on site, there are food, clothing & diy shops within easy walking distance and there is a public house / restaraunt & childs playground facilities both indoor & outdoor opposite this site.
There is a large grassy area on site where children can play ours have there bikes on site & its safe to ride them, this is a cheap & cheerful campsite which caters both for the young & the elderly ,the electrics are just fine we were here last season this season & will be returning next season as all in all it is in a handy location within easy reach of the mototway & not far from Blackpool.

Took an Easter break at this site, but was very disappointed,  and wont be going back.  The reception was just a caravan situated at the entrance, whereby the owners 'shouted down' at you.
No children's facilities, children tended to wander around with nothing to do. Toilets worst I've seen in all the sites visited.  No toilet paper or soap  for whole time of the stay.   Also, there were at least two toilets out of order.
Site situated right next to a very busy road, which made sleeping sometimes difficult.   Owners obviously had a big problem with their electricity supply to the camp as it kept going on and off, which  was extremely  irritating.  Never experienced this at any other site.  We couldn't brew up, watch TV or run the fridge properly.  Owners  didn't want to know.  After putting up with things for two days we left early.   If you rely on electricity the site isn't for you.
All in all a pretty dismal experience.
