Had 2 lovely nights here. Some road noise but not enough to disturb sleep or enjoyment. Free range hens all over the place but that didn't bother us, might be worth bearing in mind if you have a dog that fancies a bit of chicken.
About as basic as you can get which suits us, 2 adults and an elderly dog. Not good weather for walking unfortunately, but it was relaxing enough just listening to the river running by and watching the hens strut their stuff.

Had a great stay at this small certificated farm site in a peaceful part of the North Yorkshire Moors. It is basic but the price reflects this (£3 per night for 2 adults and 1 dog).
The site itself is level and is sheltered by trees/hedging. There are no toilets/showers or EHUs as this is a basic site but the views from the site are fantastic. There is a stream that runs by the side of the field which is great if fishing is your thing! The owners are very friendly and are happy to give advice about the local area etc.
There are some great walks close to the site (the Cleveland Way is nearby). If you're really feeling energetic, take a walk up Roseberry Topping or the Wainstones. The views across Cleveland/North Yorkshire are fantastic and are worth the effort!
There is a pub in Chop Gate (Buck Inn) which serves food but unfortunately we didn't get chance to visit it. It is probably best to stock up with supplies before arriving on the site as the shops in the area are limited. However, there are shops/chippy/pubs/restaurants at Helmsley & Stokeley.
Despite the limited facilities at this site, it's well worth a visit if you enjoy basic camping in beautiful surroundings. We will be returning to the site soon.
