 Just wanted to confirm this site is still open. Had a quick chat with the owner and although it is mainly residential / seasonal pitches now, they are still welcoming touring caravans, motorhomes and tents. Please note however, there is no longer a bar on site. The UKCampsite. Co. Uk would welcome an up to date review from anyone who has stayed there recently, so if that's you, please leave your comments and let us know what it was like!

On arrival was greeted by a very friendly helpful lady and was informed we could all pitch together which was ideal so I could help my daughter look after grandkids.
Site although very basic was clean tidy and had what was expected on a basic site.
The park was very safe for children to play and we were able to keep a close eye on them whilst playing.
We took our dog who also had a great time. We had a great weekend and we have all made plans to visit again very soon.

Just come back from this site and was really nice. The pitches were really big and was allowed to pitch with friends who came with us. The toilets were always clean and tidy and there was always hot water for a shower. There is plenty of room for the children to play with balls if they didn't want to play on the park. The owners of the park is very friendly and on call all the time if you need anything at all. Our friends who was in a motor home also had no problems at all and like us will be returning in the future really nice park.

Second time we've been to this site and to be honest after the first I wasn't too keen on returning. The fact that they don't charge the usual 3 night minimum for a B/H and took dogs was the deciding factor.
Not a lot there (which isn't that important), flat ground although a bit stoney, plenty of ehu's and water taps but the shower/toilet facilities are a bit worse for wear. Better than last year (no cockroaches this year - maybe it was too cold) and you need a token (4 mins for 25p) unless you use the portacabin ones near reception which are spotless although very cramped.
Got charged for a large tent but I fail to see how a Vango Icarus 500 is larger than a trailer tent which our fellow campers had but they got charged the small tent fee!
This place could do with a revamp as it's ideally sited just outside York and everything North Yorks has to offer is on your doorstep.

We stayed here for one Saturday night in May. Nice level field with plenty of room, hook ups available.
There is a club on site that had a singer on. I usually avoid campsite type clubs (like haven ones) but this one was OK, not too crowded and not full of kids.
Toilets / showers were not the best, they were in a portacabin with small sinks and poor hot water but reasonably clean.
There was also a children's play area.
The cost to camp was £15 per night (ouch) for a medium sized tent.
Overall we liked this site and had no complaints.
