We stayed two nights here, with the intention of visiting Paris and doing a bit of bouldering on our way home to the UK. This was a change in plan so we turned up without our guide books etc. The campsite staff couldn't have been more helpful. Great location for the forest and a trip to Paris - park at Fontainebleau and buy a 'mobilis' ticket - 15 Euros and includes travel around Paris itself. The site facilities are good: if I get a nice shower, I'm happy! Our caravan pitch was quiet, and nestled beautifully under the trees; the nearest bouldering was a short walk away. Highlight was the drive to Calais from the site, which took in the fantastic 'Periforique' - Paris' equivalent to the North Circular, not for the faint-hearted!
A word of warning to all you Brits out there - the French don't seem to approve of swimming shorts and the pool on this site (like many others) won't admit boys without traditional trunks.
Would stay here again anytime.

An excellent site!
We stayed for 4 nights whilst bouldering nearby and found the site to be near perfect. The nearest other campers were approx 25m away and the trees help with the feeling of distance. The dawn chorus was usually a delight, lots of birdlife.
Toilets were clean, showers warm, cleaning areas for pots & pans. No grumbles there. Staff speak English and were very friendly.
Lovely historic local towns with good food/drink options and the usual supermarket on the outskirts.
Just beware of late arriving. Nobody around when we came about 9:30 so we sneaked in and paid up on departure. Not that they seemed to mind.
Planning the next trip already.

We stayed at this site twice this summer, each time for one night only as it was en route to our main destination. It is a very large site with many static units. It is in a forest so there's lots of shade. The pitches are not on grass but on fine sandy dirt. When you arrive you are given an electronic keycard that operates the automatic entrance and exit barriers. Staff take a deposit of 20 euros and a passport.
The site has no shop but someone comes on site selling bread in the morning. There are several outdoor swimming pools grouped together in one corner of the site alongside a playground and shower, toilet and sink block. There is another large sanitary block in another part of the camp. Because of the sand underfoot, the blocks get rather dirty. In the wash block that serviced the tents, each individual toilet, shower and sink cubicle opened directly to the outside. These sanitary facilities were extremely basic. The toilets were pedestal-style as in the UK but no toilet roll is provided. There were a few wash-hand basins in the block, but no hand soap. So remember to bring toilet roll and soap each visit! The showers were so cramped and dirty I didn't try them at all. In each cubicle you press a button for a minute or two of light, then it automatically switches off, something to be aware of if showering in dark!
There are many English people on site, mainly young people involved in the climbing/bouldering scene (Fontainebleau, a famous area for bouldering, is nearby). This campsite is in a very quiet rural area near Milly-La-Foret, a charming French village. We noticed at least one bar, a restaurant and a pizza takeaway. It was late evening when we were in the village, however we were able to get supplies from a small grocery store. There was a large covered market in the centre of the village. The campsite suited us fine as a stopover, however we would not choose to stay there for more than an overnight as we found the sanitary facilities a little too basic.
