Was put off by the approach road to this site when we first arrived in the area. Our motorhome is a standard size and under 7 meters in length. The single track road to the fisheries/ farm had no passing places and was very narrow.
The hedge had not been cut for sometime and so the branches dragged along the side of the van. On arrival at the farm we reported to the house and was told that the camping site was in the field through all the permanent caravans.
It was just that a field with electric hook ups, 10 amp only, and you could park were you wanted. There was fresh water on the permanent part of the site.
At the beginning of the site was a small toilet block very basic. Somewhere to empty your toilet cassette. We did not use any of the facilities preferring to use the ones in our motor home.
Being two retired people with health conditions it would have been a long walk with the toilet cassette to empty it. It was quiet and quite scenic at the top of the steep hill on the touring part of the site.
We managed to site the van without having to use ramps, which was a bonus. We did not like the large farm dogs that were wandering around freely.
I guess if you are a fisherman and love fishing then it is a good place to go fishing. I am glad we had only booked for the one night because even though we had paid in advance I would not have stopped for a second night.
There are better places to stay nearer to Monmouth. We will not be back.

What a little gem.
We recently stayed for a w/end and it was fab. If you into fishing and are a camper this site is very good.
There is only 1 wc and shower on site which was basic but clean. It is situated on a working farm with no shop so you have to make your own entertainment and take all your food etc with you.
The fishing is excellent with 4 course lakes which are well stocked with good quality hard fighting fish. My 14 year old bagged up 75lb in a few hours.
Monmouth is 4 miles away with good shopping and supermarkets etc.
Only down point is the access, it is up a single country lane which is very rough at certain parts, although I managed with my twin wheel caravan.
All in all well worth a visit, we paid £16 a night inc elec. Fishing is an extra £6 adult, £3 child
