When we first arrived at the site we found the pitches to be pretty tight. I pull a Swift Conqueror 645 which is 8m long but had no problems placing the van on a pitch with the movers. There was an electric hook up and a water supply together with a waste water drain which were all a bit temporary feeling, insofar as the electric supply was on a lead hanging from the wire netting fence. The facilities were very clean and tidy and lit at night, with sensors picking up movement to illuminate them. The views from the site are wonderful. A short drive away is Kandel mountain which is worth a visit. There were a number of people parascending from the top which was amazing. The local town of St Peters had a nice restaurant with very friendly staff and excellent food. The owners were a little distant and less friendly than most I've met in this part of the country.
We stayed here for 4 nights with our caravan in July 2012. The site is at the top of a hill with great views over the beautiful surrounding countryside and up to the higher hills to the rear of the site.
The owners of the site speak fluent English and give a friendly welcome. Although the pitches are a bit tight to get the caravan in (due to the single width of the tarmac track access) the pitches themselves are of a decent size and have electrical hook-up and water adjacent. A very friendly German gentleman in the pitch opposite helped me manoeuvre our caravan onto our pitch.
The site may not be the best for children as there wasn't a play area, most of the people on site being retired. This did however make it very quiet!
The shower/toilet block was spotlessly clean and with modern facilities. There was also a washing machine (2. 50 euros for 1 wash) and a tumble dryer (2. 5 euros) plus sinks with hot water for washing up.
The nearby (0. 75 mile) village of St Peter is beautiful and has all the facilities - several bars/restaurants (there is also one at the entrance to the site) a small supermarket, post-office etc. You can also order morning bread or rolls on site.
A good point to note is that included in the cost of your pitch is free bus and train travel in the region for the duration of your stay. We used this a couple of times to visit the pretty town of Freiburg. We thought this site was excellent value at 20 euros a night.
