 We stayed just the one night here near the end of a tour of Northern Germany, and wished that we had been able to stay longer. We found this to be a very pleasant, clean, tidy and quiet site, independently owned and run by a local family. We thought that it was almost like staying at a UK Caravan Club site.
The welcome was warm and friendly, though we needed our (limited) German, and we were told we could take our pick from a group of hardstanding motorhome pitches. The pitches sloped slightly, levelling blocks are required. The site management connect and disconnect EHU from the distribution cabinets, this is in order to take meter readings. There is a one off charge of 1. 50 for the connection plus a pro rata consumption charge. Ours was 3. 50 for the one night. There is a one off charge of 1. 50 to fill motorhome water tanks. The hose for doing this is kept in a locked cabinet! We did not expect to use much so used our container to part fill (no charge) but found the water pressure was rather low. A key is required to access the shower and toilet facilities, also the grey water and chemical disposal point; there is a returnable 10 deposit charge for this. We found all these to be perfectly clean and of a high standard - in fact the best quality we had encountered during the entire tour.
There is a small site shop selling basic consumables, and a small, well maintained children's play area. The site is useful for exploring the Harz area, and especially for accessing the Harz Narrow Gauge steam railway system, with its spectacular route to The Brocken summit.
The only minus point is that the site is a little difficult to find, there seemed to be little in the way of direction signage from the village (Elbingerode). We used Bing maps and Google Earth and were still unsure that we were on the right way.
All in all though we highly recommend this site.
