Spent another night here on 22nd July again on my motorbike. The same usual standards but the big question is, was the bar and restaurant open as they promised on my previous visit? The answer is no. They are missing a huge opportunity with a minimum of 100 people staying each night.

We had a great nights sleep at this pleasant site. This was a stop over while we supported a charity John O'Groats / Lands End bike ride. The site was nicely flat with a few Static caravans around the edge. Their is large clean Toilet and Showers block, A lick of paint here and there would possibly be an idea. The pot washing facilities where a small cubicle outside but quite adequate for the job. Plenty of Electric hook ups. The Manager was friendly and helpful. We had a good nights sleep and would be happy to return. This was the lowest priced site of the 17 we stayed at during our trip. The location is just on the southern edge of the town, with great views of hills and rabbits.

We spent a night here when touring Scotland, particularly the southern shore of Loch Ness. The area is fantastic, notably the Falls of Foyers, which offer dramatic viewpoints. There are also many forestry commission stop off points in the are, where you can pull up and spend time walking or relaxing by the Loch or a stream.
The site itself was ideal. Prices were fair, facilities were very good and the staff were helpful and accommodating, even though we hadn't booked and the site was fairly full.
A great place.

Lovely site just in the boundary of St Augustus village about a ten minute walk to the town. Level pitches, hard standing and grass. We were on a hardstanding pitch with water pipe, decent size, the pitches are around about a large grass area with picnic tables. The facilities look as if they have been recently upgraded. The showers and loos are new. 2 showers not in use, maybe closed for the winter, the other 2 showers at the back in use, never saw another person when I was there. Only caters for motor homes or caravans. The showers are push button but last about 30 seconds and are more powerful then I've ever seen this type of shower being. Hair dryer 20p. Watch the small step on the way out of the shower. Closed for cleaning 11- 12 ladies and 12 - 1pm gents. They are checked at other times because someone replaced a loo roll in the morning when I was there. No soap at basins but there is a hand dryer. The shower block is at the entrance, in the corner, the large rubbish bin sits at the gate. No recycling available. The only children's play area I could see was a rope swing at the entrance with matting underneath. Friendly staff, the office seems to be open 7 days. Closes at 4 pm and they ask you to phone if you are going to be later then this. They took a 3 day booking from me but didn't ask for a deposit. No key needed for showers. Quiet site, and none of those notices you seem to get on some sites, keep off this etc. There is a hotel a 5 minute walk along the road, didn't use so can't comment, a shop is next to the garage which opens 8 till 8 mon - sat and 9 - 8 (i think) sunday. Sells everything. Another shop round the corner sells wine and has a cafe / restaurant. Other pubs and restaurants along the road.Canal running through the village. The canal is busy on a weekend so be prepared for the bridge being opened often and a ten minute wait each time. Nearest large supermarket at Fort William (Morrisons) 30 miles along the road.. Inverness 30 miles the other way, lots of shops bars etc, very clean city. Watched an amateur raft race for charity on the river in Inverness. Pitches costs £7.50 per adult and £3.00 for electric hook up per night, doesn't seem to be a charge for awnings which you can only use on hardstanding pitches. We had to switch the heating off to put microwave etc on for tea so maybe only 10amp electric. Very enjoyable stay and we, me hubby and the dog, will come again.

Drove up to Fort Augustus from Northumberland and was directed to the site.
A very pleasant surprise on arriving at about 9 p/m. A pretty site, with clean, relatively level pitches with plenty of electric hook ups.
Reception was closed when we arrived, but a notice on the door said park up and pay later. So we did.
As I manoeuvred into position, the chap who runs the site appeared and said I was welcome to park on the central area if I wanted a more level pitch, and didn't require the hook up.
The toilets and showers were very clean and laundry facilities provided (but we never used them).
A lovely site- good value, friendly and clean, and of course well located, being fairly close to the centre of Fort Augustus. Loads to see and do.
Will visit again.

This site was a really nice surprise. The pitches were very large and immaculately kept. The grounds were well mown and very well kept too. The showers were so clean I didn't like to dirty them! This site is very like a club site except surprisingly empty. The reception has leaflets and maps and books and lovely staff. The dog walks are excellent and easily accessible, you can also get a leaflet about walks nearby. Would recommend this site (and have already done so) and we would definitely stay here again. Fort Augustus is a short walk away and is a really lovely place with all the shops etc you could want as well as gift shops pubs and Loch Ness! Cannot think of anything negative at all. Oh , and great views. More people should take a look at this wonderful site.

A very good site that has everything that you would need. We used this site as an overnight stay but walked into the town in the evening. Toilets were a little dated and could do with a brighten up. However some of the showers had been updated and were very good. Flat site that was very clean and tidy. Not much space between units if you want electric hook-up, but tents were widely spread. The tent pitches had picnic tables. Overall a very good site for stopping over if travelling further north.
