What an absolute gem of a campsite. The farm is very basic with no facilities other than a tap with drinking water. However the beautiful location compensates for this and with fees of only £5. 00 a night its well worth a visit.
We arrived to find a field split into two with cows one half separated by an electric fence, the other side is for camping and it does not hold many units. At the end of the field are chickens which are enclosed. The farm house is over the road and you can buy fresh free range eggs. The toilet waste disposal is over there too.
A short stroll away is the river with a picnic table and benches which is pleasant. Near there is a café which provides a variety of refreshments. A few yds away is a tram station which takes you into seaton. The lovely village is about 7 minute walk if that, it has lots to offer a couple of restaurants, a pub, toilets, b&bs, two small supermarkets and a shop that makes sandwiches and other snacks.
A wonderful area and a laid back campsite I cant wait to come back again with my two children aged 9 yrs and 13 yrs they loved it here to.

Stayed for one night in mid September 2007. We hadn't booked, just showed up and asked to pitch our tent - the camping field is small, but there was no problem finding room.
The site is extremely basic. As far as facilities are concerned, only a tap is provided. There is no toilet on the site, but there are public toilets a 10 minute walk away in the town carpark. It only cost £3 per night for our two man tent so you can hardly complain.
The site is adjacent to a field of cows and chickens, which is sectioned off by an electric fence, however the chickens can walk under the electric fence so be prepared for some company! They are quite cheeky and inquisitive and may go after your food and/or try to get in your tent, so keep a close eye on them! On the plus side, this does mean you can buy free range eggs over the road. We also found one or two of the calves were able to walk under the electric fence, but were no bother.
The site lies just on the edge of the small town of Colyton, which is rather lovely with a beautiful church, old buildings and narrow little streets. There are a few shops in the town which should provide all the groceries you need, a post office and a bike shop. There's a tearoom just over the road from the campsite which serves sandwiches, icecreams and cream teas. Opposite the tearoom is a small roadside stall selling beans, tomatoes and other homegrown produce.
All in all, a unique and good-value site in a lovely town, although extremely basic and after a night or two you'll probably be wanting the use of better facilities.
