I saw this site listed on UKCS and Clumber is one of the local places we like to visit for the day. We decided this time to stay overnight and we were very glad we did.
The directions on UKCS were very good, there is no signage for the driveway on the left so keep you eyes peeled.
The site is very basic but wonderful, there are statics and sited tourers around the outside of the field and we headed to the right side of the campsite to get the morning sunshine. The left side against the trees doesn't get the sun until about 11am.
The folks in the statics are extremely friendly and welcoming and showed me where the water taps were and the gate for direct forest access.
There were a few kids on the site as well and would be easy to make friends.
The site is slightly sloping but even so we didn't bother with the levelling blocks.
The price was £6 for the night which was paid to one of the static van holders who looks after the site for the owner.
The site is on the boundary of the forest and has a gate into the forest and a track to the access roads. We headed in on our bikes and round the forest tracks before going to the NT building and shops.
The views from the site are very good. There was no excess noise.
The regulars mentioned to us to ensure we locked up the bikes overnight so I put them back on the bike rack locked and used a cover as well.
When we arrived the gate to the field was locked, I wondered into the site and one of the regulars helped us get in with a key.
On the Sunday we headed a short way passed Clumber Park to Thoresby where there is a market on a Sunday.
We will be going back for sure in the future.

Marvellous site once again we've returned to it after couple years and its amazing, peaceful and residents are lovely. The owner is very pleasant. The site is set away from any roads and no noise at all, only birds an other animals. The grass is kept lovely and children and dogs are all made very welcome. The rates are amazing, for a tourer and awning its £5 per night. There is no electric but water is fully available and you can empty your loo in the provided place.
Only a walk away to Clumber park, and a short drive to Worksop where shops ect all available. This site has been here for over 60yrs and its not used to its full advantage, people need to come see it for them selves as its beautiful - the views are amazing

We have just come back from a night on this site and it was lovely. The residents from the static vans made us feel welcome as they were pleased to see some different faces 'foreigners' as they named us!
The site is tricky to find so be careful, clearly no end of people have had difficulty. You turn onto a side road from the A57, there is a house in front and a sharp right hand bend, follow this round and ensure you take the next right when the road forks off two ways (we didn't!) then look out for the farm set back and you travel up a long driveway. The place looks quite derelict and run down, the house looks wonderful (just like the website). The farm has no electric just a generator running during the day (they don't mind if you use a genny at your van by the way).
We went through the gate and onto the field and first impression was we were in a time warp! There are no facilities other than water and elsan point but that really isn't a problem. The field is surrounded with static vans some which were neglected, owners got old and no longer visit etc. Some were really tidy, and the outlook is fantastic onto fields and woods.
There is direct access to clumber by foot or bike so no need to take the car out.
You need to take your rubbish away with you as there are no facilities, but put into a dustbin bag and at the end of the road before you join the A57 there is a large waste bin, or like us just bring home.
The couple who run the farm are old and clearly rely on the family and friends to help them out. It really is a nice place to go for a short stay and we will go back again.
As mentioned it is only £5 a night and no rush to be off my midday etc etc. Really lovely for children as large fields to play in and the woods to explore etc.

We went to try out our new van. Lovely site. Pitch where you want. The views are wonderful. There's no need for a play area, there's the woods to explore. You do need your own facilities. There is a chemical waste and a fresh water point. Good central point for Clummber park and Sherwood forest. Nottingham about 20 mins away by car. Worksop is 5 mins where there are shops and places to eat if needed. Great for a weekend away to relax, no strict times for arriving or leaving and at a £5 a night, what more could you ask for?. We will be going back!

Stayed here for our first time out in caravan. Very basic site, fresh water and waste disposal only, but is great for walking, peace and quiet and relaxing. Joined straight to clumber park so no need for car, we walked and the scenery is excellent Few long term residents who made us very welcome, would recommend to all who want a base to stay and at only £5 per night excellent value,
