A new site has now opened in this location, called The Palms Campsite ( was Daisy Cottage). Their listing can be found at https://www.Ukcampsite.Co.Uk/sites/details.Asp?revid=13559

We were due to stay there July 24th, only to discover they have gone into liquidation.

We only booked to stay at Bleu Soleil at the beginning of July. We were promised a confirmation email following payment, after failing to receive email I tried to ringing site. Discovering a dead ringtone I contacted another site on island, and was informed that they'd gone under earlier in year!

Luckily we managed to book ourselves onto another site. We are now in the process of trying to get our money back!

We have since found that we are not alone, and others have also lost out. Just a warning to others!

We booked this site and was not sure of the location but there are not many campsites on Jersey so we took a risk and it paid off. The pitches are all grass and there are not too many pitches and you can choose your pitch location which is even better.

There are tents in a different field which people can rent out and they seemed to be ok. We had a lovely pitch and it was not far to the toilet/shower block which are well maintained.

There is also a washing/drying facility and a pool room with a tv for the kids. The site has a cafe and bar which we did not use but seemed popular.

Even more popular was the pool! We really enjoyed our time here and the prices are reasonable.

Only downside was we needed to purchase milk and the site shop did not stock milk or basic items so we had to drive to the local village which is not too far away.

There are a few places to walk to in the local area and like I said there are a few shops within a short distance of the campsite. We plan to return next year.

We read mixed reviews of this site before booking, some very positive, some negative. Our experience was a negative one, but it probably depends on what you are looking for. If what you want is a ‘Butlins under canvas’, this site will serve you well.

It is true that the site has only 50 static tents and limited space for people bringing their own tent, so you are not part of a large crowd (as its website says); but then the site is also very small so it feels crowded. The static tents take up most of the available space, with very little space between them (perhaps a metre, certainly not enough to put a car alongside), and with some tents crowded in close to and directly opposite the toilets (not very nice if you were thinking of dining alfresco.) There is almost no play/communal space apart from the children’s play area.

The whole site has a very tired feel to it – the grass looks as if it is seldom cut, the toilets/showers are ‘cleaned’ but never ‘clean’, every time we washed our dishes we had to clean an area to do it in, and so on. We were there in early September, so the site was not so busy. There was no effective ‘quiet enforcement’ at nights.

On the other hand, the staff were friendly, we ate once at the cafe and the food was good and very reasonably priced, the outdoor pool was small but clean, and the hot tub was a nice touch. There was live music in the bar/cafe one night. There is a ‘laid back’ attitude to everything. The site is also open all year round, perhaps because the cafe/bar doubles up as a local facility for people living in the area; and it is the only campsite on the west side of the island (Rose Farm in the south west has closed down), with easy access to the north-western coastal path and to the beautiful cove/village of Greve de Lecq. If these are the kinds of things you want in a campsite, then you might have a great time here. It’s not cheap, mind you, so be sure it’s what you want before you part with your money.

Bleu Soleil was one of the best campsites that we have stayed at. On arrival we were given a tour of the campsite and the facilities by a very friendly member of staff and were told we could pitch anywhere as the site was fairly quiet. We were able to drive right up to our pitch to unload using a good gravelled track that led round the site.
The Toilet blocks were ample, clean and modern, the showers were of the flexible hose type and hot with good temperature adjustment, much better in my opinion than fixed heads. There was a good, covered washing up area with hot water and washing up liquid supplied.
The laundry area was a good size with 2 pay washing machines and one large tumble dryer.

The staff and owners were very friendly, they took time to introduce themselves and were around every evening chatting with the campers and providing help promptly when required. Every one was very friendly and welcomed both us and our dog, who was spoiled with treats from the staff and owners!

The site was very tidy and was based in a quiet location close to the main routes and attractions. There is a shop, restaurant that serves very reasonably priced local produce and a bar on site so everything you need is available on site. Extras are available including electric, gas, heaters and more. The owners are very pleased to be of help and genuinely want to talk to the customers.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time here and will return.
