Expensive for a very basic site. Not unusually for the area, this site seems uncared for. There is only one men's toilet so there is sometimes a queue and it's walk form the main camping area. Showers are 50p. Charging extra for showers is a pet gripe of mine. Particularly when it's £20/night (4 people) without electric. There is a bus stop outside to Pen-y-pass but the bus was full when we tried. The site has lovely views, as all in Snowdonia do, and there's plenty of space for the kids to run. We like simple sites but this just felt like we were being ripped off.

Very reasonable rate for area, with various flat hard standings for campervan. Farmer was more than happy front us to drive on campsite and pick a spot. Great views with everything you need. Due to location many camping spots protect you from the elements

First time camping in snowdonia with friends. Fantastic cafe and pub near by, I couldn’t believe how cheap camping was. , the owner was lovely and very helpful. , I will definitely be visiting again. I can’t wait to go later on in the year.

Good location for the hills and near to a pub that does good food. Unfortunately given they now charge £4 for cars on top of the £4 per person it makes it very over priced given the basic facilities (poor and expensive showers on top). Signs everywhere telling you what you can't do (note also no dogs), and not very friendly.

A site with great potential but with minimal care or thought from the owners.

Lovely location with some fabulous views.

The site is basic, facilities were 1 drinking water tap (that we found), 4 loos (each with sink - no loo paper) and 2 further sinks (with hot water) for washing up. 2 showers (50p for 4 mins). Facilities were clean but on the bare and no frills/cobwebby ceilings side.

Given the basic nature of the site I was a little surprised that we had to pay £20 for 1 night (£4 per person and £4 for the car).

The pub next to the site does lovely food.

Me & three friends stayed at this site July 2009. The farmer was very friendly and the site was in a great location to do a bit of climbing or walking in the snowdon area. The main paths up Snowdon are about a 10 minute drive away or Llanberis is about 20 minutes away.

The site is very basic and when we stayed only had two showers which were 50p for four minutes. Also make sure you take something to combat the biting migies! Also there is a sign saying NO BALL GAMES so might not be so good for kids, I didn't see any familes when we stayed. The site was not very busy when we stayed mainley due to the rubbish weather, however there is a pub next to the entrance to the site and another two about 5 minutes walk away. Capel Curig has got two kit shops and a spar and there is an adventure center about 5 mins walk away.

If you want a no frills campsite (£4 a nite) in a good location then I would recommend Bryn Tyrch farm. The only thing that let us down was the weather.

This site is basic, let's get that straight. However, the location is fantastic. There are stunning views of Moel Siabod and the Snowdon Horseshoe from your tent door. It is next to the famous Bryn Tyrch pub with its good food and beer. There are more pubs within walking distance and several cafes too. Capel Curig also has 2 gear shops so if you've forgotten something, like a gas cylinder, you can buy things locally.

The site itself has been tidied up a little over the years but it's a slow process. There is a new shower block in the lower area, near the basic bunkhouses, but the showers aren't working yet. The showers next to the farmhouse are working fine though so it's no hardship.

It's still cheap too at £4 pppn.

In summary if you want to stay in a basic campsite run by a nice farmer in a stunning natural location then this is the place for you.

Stayed here many, many times and has to be my first choice in North wales now.

The facilities are quite rustic although clean, but at £4 per night I wouldn't question conditions. There's a superb pub only one minute walk away along with another 3 within easy reach. Along with the pub there is a quality cafe serving meals thoughout the day and a filling station next door.

This site may not be everyone's cup of tea and I wouldn't say its popular with familes, but for someone like myself with a love of walking and the British countryside this is a great value for money base.
