 Loved this site. The views were amazing.
Toilet and shower facilities are available and fresh drinking water.
The owners Howard and Linda were very pleasant and friendly and their little dog Hari is adorable.
We loved it here.

This site is our happy place we have been here a few times this year and we love it
It’s a peace of heaven a hidden gem
Lovely views and surroundings
So peaceful and tranquil
A lovely place to escape
The site is spotless and Howard and Linda are so friendly we feel like we’ve known them forever lovely couple
The site has lots of walks into the woods and a lovely walk into the village
It’s definitely our favourite site

Excellent base for Stanhope and Weardale.
Lovely villages, hill walking and great scenery all within driving distance.
Certainly will return to this brilliant area.

Linda and Howard made us feel very welcome when they greeted us upon arrival and explained the site facilities and setup.
The site ideally situated for a short pleasant walk into Stanhope or more strenuous walking in the beautiful surroundings.
The site is very clean, quiet and peaceful.

Excellent base for touring the North Pennines, Weardale has Teesdale.
Slitt Wood is a great walk from Westgate and a hike on Bollihope Carrs and Catterick Moss makes a good half day walk.
Lovely place, often overlooked.

This is a great spot for visiting Stanhope and the surrounding area.
Excellent walking in the area.
Lovely pubs and places to eat in the village.
Weardale overall is a great place and a bit of a hidden gem.

Quiet stay with fantastic views, everything we wanted. Will be back.
Noted the owner has covered the area for awnings with a suitable material which addresses the concern raised by reviewer on "Date of Visit: July 2018".

Beautiful campsite with great views. Tranquil and very peaceful. Good size pitches with a service point. New shower block which was immaculate. All amenities.
Two fantastic hosts Howard and Linda very helpful and genuiely nice people giving information on the surrounding area. We had Sunday lunch in the Bonny Moorhen in Stanhope which was very good. I would advise booking. All in all a very good site. We'll be back.

If you want peace and quiet, lovely views and great hosts, then this is the site for you. Yes it is up quite a steep road towards the end, but that gives you the views.
As others have said, there is a spotlessly clean shower and toilet, and hosts Linda and Howard are lovely. Each pitch has electric and waste water disposal.
If we had any criticism, it would be the hardstanding surface, it is builders hard-core, with pointed stones and is uneven, and therefore we decided not to put our awning up.
Otherwise a lovely adult only, no dogs CL.
