We found the staff to be very helpful and thoughtful. Mainly because we persisted in speaking French to them. We didn't hear any other non-French speakers do the same. Mostly statics on site from UK and Irish operators, emplacements were smaller with thin grass, at the end of the rows of statics but serviceable with electric (adapter for UK hookup available with deposit) and dedicated fresh water tap/drain. There were ants on the pitch so care had to be taken over proofing small gaps in the tent.
Facilities were well maintained, clean and reasonably spacious. Usually quiet because statics had their own. No soap or paper provided. Laundry was available at a small extra cost over the one on the main street.
Good pools; kiddy pool and small slides, main pool with slides, lazy river and water play area. Sandy play area was decent with ping pong tables, and playground kit.
There was a circus in town which played music until midnight every night.
Local shops provided basic supplies, snacks, bar, basic restaurants. Two boulangeries, one was always queued up into the street in the morning, the local one 3 mins walk up the way was always steady with locals but better bread/pastries.
Best to shop at the nearby L'Eclerc and try some excellent restaurants (the main strip in St Jean de Monts is loaded with simple venues but has three very good restaurants next to each other, populated by French customers - sea food at Chez Bastien was great! Chateau de la Verie for an excellent evening meal in a fantastic setting)
Beach was close by, could walk it if not overburdened. We never made it to that particular beach but it seemed okay. There are charming beaches all along the coast and some stretches are certainly worth the effort
Le Clarys is the better campsite in the area but not all local amenities cater to that standard so you may want to travel around to see the best of that part of France.
Horse rides & Rosalie rides nearby, take a day trip for a canoe excursion in the beautiful town of Sallertaine to show you the charm and history of the area, lovely coast to explore, definitely the area to get salted caramel! Noirmoutier has a butterfly house and even more beaches.

There are only 18 touring pitches on the site (and over 400 statics) and it is not possible to book in advance (we tried a number of tactics, but they were firm about this). The staff spoke excellent English (even when we spoke in French) and were very polite.
Toilets were cleanish, although basins tended to get sandy through the day. No loo seats (for young children this can be problematic). Plentiful hot water.
The ground is rocky and sandy, hard to get pegs in and to get them to stay in. There was some grass, but it was sparse and dry. Pitches are defined by fencing etc and some are pretty small, we had to tie guy ropes to fence/hedge and just not use some guy ropes. The site is well drained (we had a couple of thunderstorms when there, and the water flowed away pretty well).
The beach is less than 10 minutes walk away.
The take away on site is a bit limited: pizza, chips, but there is a shopping street with takeaways, restaurants, shops (including a pretty big supermarket) less than 5 minutes walk away.
The swimming pool complex on the site is amazing - have a look at their website, they aren't exaggerating.
However, the site is dominated by the static caravans, and this makes the atmosphere very different from a predominantly touring site. Despite officially having a quiet after 10 pm policy, this is not enforced and it is noisy until late in the night, I ended up having to ask the neighbours to go inside at 1. 30 am, because I was fed up with listening to their conversation. The site has entertainment every night, starting about 8. 30/9 pm (so they clearly aren't expecting people to have gone to bed at 10 pm) and there was also a circus off site with amplified music until at least midnight every night we were there (8 nights).
Other negatives were: no place to freeze ice blocks for cool boxes, site is on either side of the busy road to the beach, no credit/debit cards accepted, lots of black ants, and it's expensive.

Just got back from a holiday at Le Clarys Plage.
This was a 2 part holiday as we took advantage of a special offer at le Clarys Plage for a week and then augmented that by camping for a week at another site nearby.
Le clarys plage is a busy site and quite near to the beach. (5 min walk)
The pool area is very good, with lots of flumes etc and an indoor pool which is heated.
The lifeguard didn't insist we wore speedo trunks, though there were signs saying this.
Beside the camp there is a Super you supermarket which is reasonably cheap and well stocked, however there is a huge Leclercs (and a McDonalds) about 6 miles away on the road to Les Sables. This offered by far and away the best food choice and was also cheaper.
There is entertainment most nights though kids karaoke may not be your cup of tea.
There isn't much in the way of pubs and clubs around St jean de monts, so if you are looking for that I'd recommend going to a site nearer Les Sables.
The site facilities were clean and they provided toilet roll, soap etc. There are also laundrettes within the camp.
The staff were helpful when we spoke to them.
Overall we had a great time there and I'd recommend it to anyone. (Bar mad clubbers).
We were there before the french and english schools broke up, so it was a bit quieter and I'd imagine it gets very busy in high season.
