Beautiful peaceful surroundings.
Great to be able to park up and walk into the woods to pitch tent.
Although other people were camping there you wouldn't know as pitches are all spread out.
Absolutely fantastic location and very well kept.
Great communication from the couple who oversee the woods.

Visited with my wife and 1 & 4 year olds late September. This was a bit ambitious as it was a bit late in the year and our first time camping as a family.
We had a fantastic time, as the campsite is so secluded and pitches are all quite far apart you really do feel like you are out there on your own.
The facilities are essentially just a carpark, composting toilet and water in large bottles for washing hands and dishes.
I think we stayed in one of the farthest pitches from the carpark, but the walk was still less than 10 minutes, and wheelbarrows are provided which makes such a big difference to lugging heavy items. The pitch itself was huge, with low bench seating around a large fire pit and a picnic table and benches off to the side.
Large bags of firewood are only £3 (have change with you to put in the honesty box) which was nice as you weren't having to worry about conserving wood too much.
The price per night for a pitch was also extremely reasonable.
We are looking forward to returning again :)

A truly back to nature experience.
We loved our stay at Blinkbonny Wood.
A Wood that is still a place where the animals and nature seem undisturbed by us humans.
Thank you for making us feel so welcomed, Steven and Sally.
My favourite part was the best stary sky I have ever seen. Magic!

Lovely pitch with a nice firepit and excellent choice of where to pitch tents.
The clearing was not too far away from the toilet which was good.
The woods and surrounding area is lovely and has opportunity for great walks!
Hugely enjoyed my stay!

Fantastic place for a Bronze DofE expedition! Just wild enough!
Fire pits, compost toilet, fresh eggs for sale and all in a secluded location less than 45 mins drive from central Edinburgh.

This is a lovely, secluded site.
My grandchildren enjoyed exploring and not having to shower and I enjoyed the stars and the peacefulness.
We all loved the wildlife and the campfires. Facilities are very rustic, but that's what we expected.
We would go again.

Really enjoyed staying at the site.
The huge space available at each pitch was fantastic as we felt like we had the place to ourselves.
Very rural site with some facilities (the bags of wood for the firepits are a bargain at £2. 50).
Loved the feeling of wild camping with the feeling of safe surroundings (and a toilet!).

This is a simple, 'green' site. Brilliant for families. Somewhere that children can roam and explore in safety.
Great place to introduce children to tents, camp fires, and an outdoor experience.
Lots of space between camping areas, so although there were lots of excited children, no-one was disturbed.
Thoroughly recommend for anyone who likes 'simple' and doesn't enjoy "holiday parks" and the like.

Had 1 night here in June 2015. It's a near wild campsite but absolutely perfect for a 1 night father and son type of trip. Each pitch has a station for a campfire and firewood is available nearby so great for sitting round into the night. There are simple wooden benches round the fire so you don't really need to bring much stuff with you (tables, chairs etc. ) - although I brought too much.
The owner has set up an ogre's house with a captive fairy. My 4 yr old loved rescuing her and taking her to the owner for a prize. Great fun!
