 BUNGALOWS - 1 week, 2 Adults & 1 child.

These are self catering, clean and well maintained.

You need to bring your own 'bits' for cooking (food and condiments) through to washing up and drying (wul/scrubbers/cloths/towels).

But all pots, pans, dishes, crockery, cutlery and utensils are provided.

There's a basic oven/cooker, electric kettle, digital TV, room & water heaters all running off electric via a £1 coin meter (cost us about £10 for the week).

We take our own 14' TV with inbuilt DVD player, and a portable arial & booster, (+ Wii box next time) & DVD's etc.

We take a cheap toaster and low energy light bulbs (to swap for the duration). Next time, we will take a small microwave also.

There's a bath (showers are in the touring loo block about 25-50m away), basin and a loo. You need to take your own towels.

Ours had 2 bedrooms, one with a double and the other with 2 singles. All bedding/sheets was provided, freshly laundered, no holes/rips/tears. Our kid slept in her sleeping bag.

Outside you've got a clothes line (you might need pegs) and a hardstand to park &/or to bar-b-q/sun on, with lawn all around.

See their web site for pics, they are accurate.

As with all our stays, the owners were helpful and friendly.

When you arrive, my advice is to turn the heating on, open the windows (have them on vent) and air the whole house for a few hrs.

The bungalows are peaceful and out of the way. A really relaxing place to be.

Our (2Adults + Child) 10-day stay was superb, a great pitch, with mostly lovely sunny weather.

The touring site is small (I'd guess about 30 pitches max, 12+ with power, about 800w-1kw max), well maintained and is just west of their bungalows area.

Showers were 20p token (from owners) which gave an adequate time for a shower.

(Hint: as the warm water takes a while to arrive from the heater, its an idea to either be 2nd or at least run the hot water taps in the basins until warm. )

There plenty of hot water inside the loos if you need it for washing dishes in the outside sinks.

Toilets were clean and well maintained.

[Hint: Loo header tanks take a long while to refill, so flush as few times as you can, otherwise you are in for a long wait. ]

There is black water tank emptying facility for vans on site, ask the owners.

There's a coin operated washing machine in the laundry room.

Normal waste and recycle bins were emptied regularly.

There was plenty of space in the middle for the kids to play balls games etc, our's thoroughly enjoyed the stay and was sad to leave.

The owners are friendly, chatty and helpful. Monty, the big white slobbering dog (labrador), barks at strangers but is always on a (long) leash. His barking will get you the attention of the site owners.

A real friendly site.

We spent most of our time in Porthleven (crabbing & fishing), at Poldhu beach and touring the tip of cornwall - Sennen Cove (fishing & surfing), St. Ives & Mousehole (fishing & crabbing), Penzance etc etc. Wonderful!

We (2 Adults & Child) booked a bungalow for a week intending to tent tour the next, but we ended up booking a further week because of the scenery and beaches locally.

The place is quiet, peaceful and unhurried, but we were hardly ever there, as we spent all out time at the beaches and seeing the sights.

Within 10-15 miles there's plenty of choice of shops in Helston (Tesco into town, Sainsbury by Flambards entrance) and beyond (e.G. ASDA on the way to Falmouth).

Apart from the beaches and sites (e.G. The Lizard) within 10 miles you have St Michael's mount near Marazion, Penzance, Land's End and the beautiful beach of Sennen Cove, and of course St. Ives within 30 miles. If you want to go further there is plenty of N. Coast beaches worth a day visit within 50 miles. Its an excellent place to base a holiday assault on the Cornish holiday feast. Smuggling, mining, witchcraft, surfing, sun, sand and (very clean) sea(fishing). The German's and Dutch love it!

The bungalows were clean and well maintained. Everything worked. Tourers (v. Cheap) seemed to enjoy the rest. The type of place where you can get a last minute booking.

The owners are friendly and helpful.

Will be back there in 2011.

We spent one week on Pinetrees. The owner greeted us and was very friendly, showing us to our pitch, all seemed to be going well at this point. Now for the moans.

The site is very near to the main road so be warned even though the site is screened by large pinetrees you will still hear the traffic noise and sometimes it can be intrusive.

If you have tiny tots you will have to watch them closely as the main entrance is adjacent to the camping area and if they run in the wrong direction they will be on the main road very easily.

Next we come to the facilities, one word will describe them grotty! so prepare yourselves for a shock. The doors to the toilet and shower cubicles have rusty bolts on them and are difficult to close, my 8 year old son cut his hand on one of them, no hand dryers in the toilets and no soap either.

Having said this though they are kept fairly clean. The owner spaced the units well apart but on the last 2 days of our stay a family were pitched right in front of us in a trailer tent and there was no room to swing a cat.

So to sum it up would we go back - a big no even though to stay here cost us 90 quid for the week so the old saying of you only get what you pay for is very true here, although this part of Cornwall is lovely with lots of things to do, we would use a different site.

This is a beautiful campsite with direct access to woodland and friendly, helpful owners. There is plenty of room for large tents and the area is well looked after and maintained. Dogs are very welcome and the owners make a point of coming to make sure you are ok. The showers are 20p but worth it and when my partner went to get some he was given about double the amount of tokens he should have had for his money! You do need your own car to get around but if your feeling energetic you can walk to the local pub.

The showers and toilets are old but very clean and well presented, they were cleaned every day. This sight was only £12 per night and it was worth every penny I would definitely go back again.

Site well positioned for touring this part of Cornwall. You do need your own transport. There are no shops near by the nearest one would be in Mawgan around 3 miles towards Helston. There is a big Tescos in Helston and a Somerfield as well.
The site is positioned behind the craft centre where you will find a warm welcome from the owners. You have RNAS Culdrose around 3 mile down the road and the Lizard around 8 miles. The nearest beach is Poldu cove and gunwollow, that is lifeguard manned, there are other smaller coves around as well. The area around the lizard is maintained by the National Trust and has free car parking if you are members and a small parking charge if you not.
We would highly recommend the smugglers inn at the lizard for fish and chips, but they close fairly early around 8ish and for a cream tea it got to be Mullion harbour cafe and the added bonus is that they allow dogs inside as well.
I think facilities on the site are very basic but well maintained and spotless. There is a good washing machine but no dryer but the owners don't mind you drying your stuff out side. There is no playground as such but there is plenty of space for the children to play games on the field.
For dog owners there are some lovely walks through the woods my dog has loved every minute of being here. When we arrived the weather was awful and the owner pitched us as quick as possible.
I would highly recommend this site. We loved it so much that we have already booked again for next year. The owners are superb cant do enough for you to make you welcome and offer help and advice if you need it. And you will also meet Monty the dog he's brill, likes to play a lot.

We have had a brill hol and cant wait till next year

Nice campsite - one field and some statics, next to the Goonhilly craft centre. Toilets were fine and there were a couple of showers in the ladies I seem to recall. Heard owls and there were plenty of birds about. Owners very friendly and helpful. You are really near Future world at Goonhilly although if you were to walk down the B road to it that might be a bit hazardous as there's no pavement. There may be public footpaths though. We only had one night - it was £12 for four of us so good value. No kids playground but there's a big space in the field for games etc.
