 I have been visiting the campsite at Mansigne each June since 2005 and will shortly be going out there again for this year's Le Mans 24-hour race.
We originally camped here as one of our group has been staying there in years previous to us. The campsite itself is lovely, although we appreciate that when we visit in the second weekend in June, there are no French travellers, and only a handful.
The facilities are great as far as we are concerned - really nice clean modern toilet / shower blocks with nice shaded pitches set amongst mature trees, with hedges making good windbreaks and breaking up the site in general.
The staff (the few that we have seen) are always very friendly. Usually the first we really see of them is when we go to pay on departure!
Apparently the kiosk block has free wifi (will check that this year), and we will be trying the electrical hook-up this year.
Just behind the campsite is a huge lake with a man-made sandy beach. In very hot years it has proved to be a lovely place to swim! One of our group says the fishing there is ok as well. Another of the group stopped at Mansigne one August en-route home from the South of France and said the beach and campsite was packed with French visitors.
The small town of Mansigne is very picturesque and well-appointed with a bar (owner is less friendly than he used to be sadly), pizza restaurant, bakery etc.
We use Mansigne as a nice base away from the hustle and bustle of the circuit, however I would happily stay there on a family holiday and use it as a base for looking around the Loire Valley, and would not hesitate to stay there for other holidays.
